Help - new tap wanted!

Hello
I have just joined this community and would like to know if anyone has replaced their mixer tap on a 2000 Symbol before?
It looks as though the sink unit has to come our and the job is beginning to look like a major one.
The problem lies with my mixer tap which 'just fell off' Before looking for another tap - even this looks like being difficult as I'm told they are not made now- I thought I would just check a forum site in case someone has been here before.
Any advice - help would be appreciated.
