Habitation door lock Empty Habitation door lock

Post by Tooter Wed Oct 14, 2020 10:34 am

Hi I have a 1999 Ravenna and the habitation door lock just stopped working.I managed to get it working so I can unlock for m the inside but can't lock it with the key form the outside. Can anyone tell me what lock I need to replace it? I emailed autosleaper with no reply and there is no markings on the lock itself any info that can point me in the right direction would be great. Thanks.

AS aren't the best at answering emails promptly, I find if you ring them it's quicker and they are usually very helpful, especially if you have the vans Job No. (on a sticker in the glovebox?).

There's a parts list on their website although many of the items are no longer available but it might help you identify the part from the pictures.

Our Pollensa hab door developed a problem which I found on disassembling was due to the spring having broken, but I've never got around to replacing it, we just manually turn the key back to mid position after locking or unlocking.

I believe the lock/handle is known as an OBERHOLZ. Search eBay and you'll see that you can buy the exterior and interior separately or together.

Hi thanks for the replies. The problem is with the actual lock barrel not the handle.

Will any barrel with the same dimensions fit or is it specific for the van?

Habitation door lock Empty Re: Habitation door lock

Post by Robe Wed Nov 11, 2020 8:27 pm

I cannot close or lock the habitation entry door on my Autosleeper Nuevo ES 2006 model. It is not possible to engage the outer door mechanism with the in hab. wall fixed receptor.and I cannot remove the door mechanism to check it out as there appears only to be a single screw holding the inside handle to the door. Removal of this screw does not enable removal of the door handle or access to the locking mechanism.
Can anyone advise how I gain access to the door lock?

Habitation door lock Empty Nuevo 2006 Hab Door Lock Spring.

Post by Robe Wed Mar 17, 2021 3:21 pm

As part of other works carried out by MMM (Marquer Mobile Maintenance of Southampton) The lock was temporarily repaired by connecting a broken spring. Access to the spring was obtained by removing 3 caps from the door holes which then enabled removal of the lock screws.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a new lock spring?

Thanks for all your help.

AS i said earlier in the thread, the make of handle on Nuevo and other models for around that year is OBERHOLZ. Whether the spring is available on it own I don't know but search for stockists of that make.

I once got worked up that I couldn't lock the habitation door, but found that the driver's door wasn't closed properly...worth opening and closing both the front doors a couple of times to check their switches.
