CAMpRA
If you haven't heard of this group it's the Campaign for Real Aires UK. Unfortunately they only have a Facebook page but over 10000 members and doing an amazing job of lobbying local authorities and organisations to get Aires established in the UK. They apparently are working with Camping CarParks of France to get them over here. Also the Cleethorpes Aire I posted about is looking very positive. A lot of work being done by their team of Admins and Moderators. There are draft letters to use to local authorities and councillors etc. They are getting a lot of publicity in newspapers. There is a survey they would like everyone to respond to to ascertain what motorhomers want in an site. This survey can be undertaken by anyone , you don't have to be on Facebook....

Thanks for flagging this up Paul. Had not heard of them before and dont do Fb but a great initiative and deserves all the support we can give, so survey completed. Who knows, one day we may compete with the continent for local authority sanctioned facilities.

Re: CAMpRA
Thanks for the info Paul. We are not on Facebook but support there cause. I would appreciate any updates with there efforts.
I can think of meany places we have visited as have others that would benefit from an Aire. It would help boost visitor numbers.

Re: CAMpRA
For information CAMpRA members have donated over £13,000 to fund waste points for charities and community groups.
The applications for funding are open until the end of January if you know of a site that may be interested in potential revenue from a waste point or Aire.
