Polish or Re-Paint my camper. Empty Polish or Re-Paint my camper.

My so "helped" me to clean up a very dirty camper with a power washer and something he called, road dirt remover.  The campr now looks much cleaner but the paintwork looks dead so the question is:
Polish or Re-paint and if the answer is polish what sort do I need.
Mnay thanks.

I use Meguiars products on my Pollensa - not the cheapest but considered the best.

Their marine & RV range for the hab area

and their normal car range for the cab.

Sounds like on the hab area you may need to use the heavy oxidation remover first followed by polish then wax.

Then maintain using gel wash and one-step cleaner & wax.

Either way you also need to use a good supply of elbow grease!

From my vague memories of when I last polished a vehicle I suspect that at least it would be easier to do it in this cold weather than summer time.  Thanks for the advice.

You could buy polishing mop and give it a good clean yourself .or try a mobile car vallet service . a respray would be very expensive and could be difficult to find a paint shop that could take a motorhome .farecla G3 is a compound the trade uses .to remove heavy grime .

I used Farecla G3 on the roof and Luton over cab area on my Sigma coachbuilt van ( two vans ago) the results were amazing , polished up with caravan white polish.
If you doing it by hand ,take you time  ,do small area at a time.
Good luck.

Spot on, go along with everything Roger has posted. Also agree with Farecla G3 as Molly and Boaby suggest

Be careful when using a rotary polisher if you intend to go down the power route, you really need one with an orbital movement an orbital one, they do not generate heat and will not burn the paint or GRP like a badly used rotary one will. I have a das6 pro plus which was not cheap but if you are likely to be detailing the van a lot in the future is an investment to consider unless you want arms like Popeye.

Another vote  for the DAS6 - go for the either the pro or pro plus, both have longer leads and more powerful motors.  You can get them from cleanyourcar.co.uk, also as kits with polishing mops and polish.  [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Also worth remembering that you need need polish for polishing but you need wax for protection.
