A brace of shiny Bourtons seen heading south out of Camping Haro at 11.00 am today (Sunday 8th March).

Thank you Leighton. We’ve just “ escaped” from Haro where there has been an outbreak of coronavirus reported over the weekend. We were stopped by a police road block on the way out and had awful visions of being forced to turn back and stay quarantined in town. We did wonder why we were the only people eating in the normally packed Terete restaurant on Sunday.

Now on Bilbao dockside along with about 10 lines of assorted motorhomes and caravans ready for tomorrow’s boat. 

Fingers crossed for your trip in April. Take your own hand gel. That is the one thing we could not get as everywhere had sold out. Plenty of loo roll however !

Turn around. The weather is cold and wet, the country has gone bonkers stock piling toilet roll to combat a bad cold, at least that’s what we’re told it will be like. As for hand gel, it’s become like precious stones, rare and expensive.

Thanks Harry. If we were still in the sunny south we might well stay but having got this far we just want to get home now.

I’ve sent off my usual big post-trip Tesco order for delivery as soon as we get home and am astonished by how many items are Not Available. No problem in the Haro Alcampo and we half wondered whether to ditch the wine and buy pasta and toilet rolls !
