What was meant by “no subscribe, no access”, was for ASOC members only who will need to subscribe, otherwise they will not receive the email alerts to the username and password required, which could change regularly. Only they will know the way to subscribe via ASOC News, As l understand it.

I think the word 'subscribe' cunjures up having to pay. 'Opting in' might be better.

I guess all will become clear to ASOC members shortly, optin or subscribe, the freeby bits on the technical page of the website will be moving, but it’s only £20 membership a year, as I understand it,

The members area of the ASOC website is now live. Pages are being added all the time. Please subscribe to web updates and the newsletter to obtain your password.

I am currently working on Deals for Members pages. There are currently 3 dealers offering discount on annual habitation checks that more than covers the annual cost of membership. It is planned to put the Deals for Members in the public area of the technical section.

The member area is as it says, only open to ASOC members, if members wish to optin or subscribe it can only be done on the about page of the ASOC website. As I understand it.

I found the new password , the email had gone to my spam box. Strange that, seeing as the monthly notification of the newsletter always goes to my in box.

There is a "Subscribe" button on the home page and on the Technical page to make things simpler

Hi Dennis

Will it be possible to change usernames and/or passwords to something personally memorable?

No problem if not - just curious.

Unfortunately, no. The Passwords and Usernames are controlled by the WebMaster so he can manage access as members join and leave.

Sorry
