Hello from deepest Essex. I've just collected my 1999 Trident and driven it carefully home, worried because it's still on its first cambelt; despite only having 30,000 miles on the clock, I think it's on borrowed time. Lots of work ahead with the very grubby interior and faulty cassette blinds etc.
I'm looking forward to travelling about the UK and France, bike on the back ready for some great times.
Now, where's that upholstery cleaner?........

Hi Tattybogle

Hopefully it's a nice day so you can get the doors open, the Hoover out etc.
Plenty of stuff on the Internet about retensioning blinds

As you say a service may be a good start
Enjoy your trips

Hi Tattybogle and welcome to the Forum from a fellow Trident owner.
When we bought ours privately 5 years ago with 35K on the clock the first thing we did was change the cambelt. It's done 62K now and will have the cambelt done again at 80K
Cheers
Stevo

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've already rung around and a cambelt and waterpump replacement at a VW specialist is £520. Ouch!
