Having decided a new van was on the cards we viewed a 2022 Broadway EL at a nearby dealer … offered at the enhanced 2022 post Covid price. OK, I understand everything has gone up, including the base van by a huge amount.
So, Mr Dealer, what will you offer for my 2014 Warwick XL (15K miles) ….. it was approx £15K less than the windscreen price of a similar age vehicle on his forecourt (now sold) …. and NO negotiation. 
That was it ‘take it or leave it’ ….. so I walked out. Is this the expected ‘mark up’ on a part-ex van these days …. if so it would appear I’m sadly out of touch.   Peter M

Peter, if it was me, unless you are desperate for a new van then I would just enjoy your 2014 Warwick for the time being. IMO it’s a very volatile market at present.
2014 is a very good vintage from what I’ve read on here in the last 3 years!

Right now with the shortage of stock and demand dealers of vans and cars can ask just about anything they want and get away with it. I will not be changing any of our vehicles at the moment, our Worcester is 2012 and offers massive comfort, why would I spent another £50k plus for a new one which will be slightly more technically advanced agreed, but basically the same. I really do believe in many cases the reliability of a van a few years old that has "shaken down" is better.
As to the car I was loaned a £75K electric Mercedes EQC the other day with the hope I would order one. Lovely to drive, a super thing but in the real world it would only do 200 miles on a charge. My old diesel Mercedes does about 2000 miles a year and is in perfect condition, I was offered £7K for that so just the £67K to pay out then for something that I couldn't drive from Cornwall to Heathrow without a 45 minute recharge.
So much more advanced technology just around the corner, I would stick with what you have if you are happy with it! up!

My old van is up for sale at £10,000 more than the trade in. It is close to the price in the windscreen  in 2013.

I don't regret it as it's still for sale since last September and I've done over 5.000 in the  a new van.

Perhaps the high forecourt prices are there so that the dealers have some stock on display. Also I don't know what they will eventual get for the van or what will be taken as a trade in.
