Thatcham Cat1 and 2 for insurance Empty Thatcham Cat1 and 2 for insurance

Having just purchased a 2015 model Broadway I naively assumed it would have Cat 1 alarm (having seen a 2014 model with one fitted, I now suspect that the previous owner of the latter had one installed himself.)

My insurer, Comfort, indicated that my premium would stay the same as my existing van (an Auto Trail with a Cat 1) providing it also has a Cat 1. My question is - does the Broadway have a Cat 2 alarm (as best as I can tell all Peugeot vans from 1998 have them) and if so has anyone experience of upgrading a Cat 2 to Cat 1 and the cost?  I'd be looking for fitters in the Hampshire area.

This Thatcham list [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] shows Boxer has L2 Immobiliser (page 43)

Page 44 shows current approved aftermarket alarm upgrades L2 to L1.

I have the Autowatch 695 RLC LCV, which Comfort accepted when I insured with them.

I don't know what comes as standard but I had to specify a Cat 1 to be fitted when we ordered our Nuevo last year.

We had a Cat 1 fitted to our duo, and we had a mobile fitter took him about 2 hours, supplied and fitted cost £250.That was 12 months ago. Hope this helps. Regards sidecutter
