Hi to all on the ASOF. Looking to buy a Duetto in the next couple of months, so this forum will hopefully give some guidance on what to look out for / what to expect. This will be a move upmarket from the VW bay camper we had a few years back. Will a Duetto be as much fun? I'll let you know.
Cheers, Jim

Welcome from a warm and sunny Alicante where we are wintering in our 1998 Duetto "Petal".

Can wholeheartedly recommend the Duetto.

Best regards,

Hi Dutto,

Many thanks for the recommendation. We have freinds with a Duetto, and having a had good look round it, plus hearing of their positive experiences, we were persuaded away from our original intention to get an AS VW base van.

Lucky you being in Spain this time of year. Must go - need to scrape the ice off the windscreen this morning!

Best wishes
Jim

Hi all,

Thanks to all for the friendly welcomes.
Sorry for the slight delay in responding, but we have been away on a short break, with no internet. During our travels we did manage to purchase a Duetto, so no doubt i'll soon be asking all sorts of questions on the forum. Can't wait to get it home.

Happy New Year to all

Hi Jim,
I loved the casual remark that you just happened to buy a Duetto. smile! You made it sound the same as if you had bought a new pair of shoes.
I bet you are a happy bunny now. When do you collect it? When you have got it please put some pics on to show us all.

Hi Squib,
Yes, sounds almost like we bought the thing off a bloke we met by chance in a lay-by, rather than being the culmination of months of deciding what we wanted, researching the chosen vehicle type and then devising a shortlist for viewing - though I quite like your "just happened to but a Duetto" interpretation.

It's a 2005 model which we will be picking up in mid January. Will post photos on the forum after we get it (her?) home.

Must dash - off to the January sales as I need a new pair of shoes (thanks for reminding me! winkin!)

Well done!!

Just after buying "Petal" we saw the Duetto described as "a nice motorhome for a weekend away" which, as we were preparing to spend six months living onboard ours, seemed a trifle snobbish!!

After four months (i.e. sixteen weekends and the bits in between as well) we are coping nicely thank-you!

Happy New Year!

Best regards,

drinksallround

Hi Dutto,

Happy New Year!
Yes, ours (as yet un-named) will also have to do for weekends, long trips and anything else we throw at it, and I'm pretty sure it'll cope admirally. Nice to know you are finding it so with Petal.
Just can't wait to get it home so we can get out and about with it. allthumbz

Cheers
