fitting solar panel

After buying a second hand Auto Sleeper Broadway from Marquis last Sept.I got them to fit a solar panel .On looking at the control panel both the vehicle and leisure batteries were charging and discharging at the same rate. On my investigation and talking to technical at Auto Sleeper it seemed both sets of batteries had been linked with the fitting of the sun saver duo instead of a plug that goes into the EC325.On talking to Marquis they new nothing about this fitment,so giving them the part number they ordered it and fitted it last week,I now hope my problem has been sorted (will find out on our next outing).

Do you know what size panel they fitted?

Don't know ,was charging ok while not on mains but discharging both leisure and vehicle
batteries at same time on a night when we were using power which it is not supposed to do.
Hope this has sorted our problem.

Looked at voltage on control panel,both sets of batteries were charging and discharging the same.Been away this last wkend and now seems to be working correct after rewire,with no mains both sets of batteries were charging from solar,after using  inside lights heating etc at night.the voltage was down on lesure battery in the morning but other had not dropped.fingers crossed problem sorted.was very supprised Marquis at Dinnington did not know about how to wire it correct

The Sargent control panel can take a Solar panel maximum of 120W so I would check with them what size panel they fitted.
I am not at all surprised at Marquis lack of knowledge. They are only good at one thing and that is selling.

According to A/S manual the Sargent panel fitted to our Broadway can take up to 120w. We checked on the Sargent website and they stated maximum 100w for that model. Yes not over impressed with Marquis after sales service.

I'm pretty sure that's an error (or at least a very conservative figure) on the Sargent website. AFAIK they have used a 10A EPsolar EPIPDB-COM dual-channel controller right back to the EC325, so that rating should easily cope with 120W. IIRC my 100W panel has never exceeded 6A output, so there's plenty of leeway in the system.

The 325 manual says 100W, the 328 says 120W.

Thanks Ploughlin, quite right. I have a 328 and was asking for a 100 or 120 watt SP to be fitted. Suppliers said they looked at Sergent site and maximum my unit would take was 100w. They were clearly looking at the 325!
Don't think there was room for the 120w anyway.
