Radio aerial on 2002 Nuevo

The aerial on the roof has never given a good signal, bolted to grp I suspect. Rather than attach a new one to the vehicle body, has anyone had experience of the ones stuck to the windscreen, I believe these are used in conjunction with dab radios. Unfortunately mine is the original fitted.
