The joys of grand children Empty The joys of grand children

Post by jollywalker Sun Aug 30, 2015 9:14 am

I have just been away to a lovely site in Shropshire, and as my son and his family struggle to get away on holiday I paid for 2 pitches, and they joined me next door in their tent.

My grandchildren are 4 and 2, and obviously were very excited to get inside grandad's motorhome. Now I can be a little grumpy, and I do get rather 'precious' about the interior on 'Daisy', so watching my 2 year old grandson swinging off the indicator arm, hanging off the curtain rail, sitting inside eating pasta in sauce and drinking hot chocolate put me in a near state of exasperation.

Thankfully they build AS strong, and Daisy has survived.

Would I do it again?.....................Yes, in a heartbeat, it was so lovely to spend time with the kids.

Is anyone else as 'precious' about their 2nd home?

Hi Jollywalker sounds like you all had a great time and it is fun to start the little ones early in this camping lark, I always end up in the back when we go with our little un as she always wants to sit in the front with grandad.

Oh dear!  I must be the same. I offered our new A/S to my daughter  and husband and baby, but insisted on adequate time for a tutorial on how it all works. I was very vocal on the width and overhang etc.
they declined, until I'd had the first dent.
Feel ashamed.

We had our first night away with our 5 year old grandson in July. He loved it. smile!

Only problem for us was that we had to blackout the van and be in bed for 8pm, even that was an hour later than his usual bedtime hugegrins

Our daughter and 10 year old grandson joined us on a trip a few months ago. They followed us in her car to a site on a farm. We stopped in the yard for me to find out where to book in. In just a couple of moments our grandson got out of the car, straight into farmyard mud,(the worst kind!) up into the side door of our van and through into the front seat, leaving a trail of muddy footprints. Bless him!

precisely why we bought a 2 berth motorhome hugegrins

Hubby would have kittens if our grown up kids and grandkids wanted to use it. Closest we get is pitching up at the side of them when they are in their caravan or a tent.
