I've just purchased my first campervan, a Volkswagen T4 Auto-sleeper, can't wait to get out on the road out of London! Already found a few good tips here. Having recently had my car and motorbike stolen from my road security is a major concern, it has an imobiliser and I've ordered a steering wheel lock... Maybe I'll have to sleep in it to make sure! Thanks for a great resource.

Having had other vehicles stolen you have every right to be concerned about your Auto-Sleeper, think if I were you I'd be looking into a high quality alarm, we have a steering wheel crook lock but really I wonder how much security they really add

Hi and welcome to the Forum idff from a fellow VW AS owner.
Sorry about your bike and car being stolen. Hope you have a change of luck with your AS- is it a Trooper or a Trident?
At least it will comply with the new LEZ rules that are coming in soon

Stevo, it's a Trident Hi-Top, which I've since found out is too high for my parking permit, but they let me have one after some serious negotiation and I have to keep my fingers crossed the parking attendants don't get the hump and measure it! I had no idea there even was a height restriction, you live and learn! Something to be aware of if there's anyone else thinking of getting a high-top who live in a restricted parking zone.
