location of leisure battery

My wife and I are new to motor homing. Last year we purchased a VW autsleeper GL, 1995 vintage. We are looking to buy a solar charger. I am trying to locate the leisure battery. I have looked under the driver and passenger seats. But have only found what loks like a charging unit under the passenger seat.
Can any one tell us where the lesiure battery is located before I start pulling too many things apary looking for it.
