Fortunately it's doesn't get as cold down here BB, although it's chilly, but dry, most of the snow has cleared ,only chucks of ice on footpaths.
Good walk wth Tag, palled up with my old neighbour ( bubble) and his Wee dug.
Have a nice day.

No frost here and plus 5 degrees, windy though so feels cooler. Plenty of blue sky this morning and the roads were dry going to the old peoples shop earlier. Loads of geese down by the river now so happy about that!
Looks like a useable outside day with the right gear on up!

Loads of Pinkfoot geese flow over yesterday lunch time GH, maybe heading your way.
Raw cold wind coming in of the sea, some flurries of snow, extra pair of trew on today.

I will be looking for those geese Boaby!
Miserable morning down here, quite heavy rain and sleet and windy with it, feels much milder but not ventured out and no intentions of doing so until the rain stops! Running out of indoor jobs now, must be time to plan the next trip in the van even if we can't carry it out.

A nice bright morning and it must be getting a bit warmer here because the ice is thinning out in our garden. The solar fountain on the bird bath is running so that must have thawed.
Yesterday’s walk was a bit slippery in places. Still no sign of the pavements being cleared or gritted. I tried to find a walk that we could walk on the thawed side of the street. The footpaths here would need wellies or walking boots hence walking on the roads. If we are allowed out we will go out of town maybe a walk on the sea front.

Eight inches of snow to get rid of before I can think of mowing, although I must admit I did look at the mower the other morning and did fleetingly think about using it without collecting basket to cut a path through the snow. Then reality kicked in and I realised that since it is electric the only thing I would achieve would be a Darwin award.

Sunny and windy this morning, -1C

Bloody cold here still, outlook for next week totally different. We run a dehumidifier in winter, cuts off at 40% RH, hasn't run for weeks. Normal RH with it not running circa 38 to 39%
Today it got to 29%, lowest ever.

My brother lives near Toronto and they have to run a HUMIDIFIER , not DE as in our case as its so dry they have problems with furniture etc drying out and cracking

Dull and cold with a brisk wind blowing. Gauge is saying it's -3°c but it feels much colder than that. Forecast for the next few days suggests we're getting everything but the kitchen sink thrown at us.

Wife decided to hang our washed fleeces and dog towels out under the canopy, brilliant drying day, winds blowing at around 30+, only problem is its frozen solid, especially the thin dog towels.
Really cold wind,although sunny.

2° at present (feels like -5 according  to weather app) , bird bath a solid lump, not that any birds ever use it. The water butt is solid, will take weeks to thaw out, I assume the drain pipe to it is also frozen solid.

Yes, temps well on the up 'down yer'...persistent drizzle though.
Forecast is for an increasingly warm, but wet week, then a zap of Mediterranean 14 degs!...and (say it quietly) a hint of sunshine.

Temperature has got up above freezing today, still windy with rain forecast for
later this afternoon. Last couple of days we've had council workers out spreading grit on pavements, just in time for the thaw scratch head

Funny enough Tony, our gritters have finally gritted our wee estate roads, roads are clear and bone dry after weeks of melted frozen ice    shrugg .
Ah well, heat wave on the way.

Finally back above 0C, thaw definitely in progress. Gentle breeze and light rain, slippy underfoot where snow has been compacted.
