Hi all
I'm retired and single again (!), living in the southern part of the Cotswolds and a couple of years ago decidede to pursue my dream - I bought a Pollensa, built on a deisel Peugeot Boxer base. It's really great. I've been to France three times so far and travelled thousands of miles with absolutely no problems. As I'm having a very late holiday this year, I thought that I'd better check the underside and the tyres - quite a bit of rust - the spare tyre cage had to be sawn off, but, after a fair bit of work (and two new 'hangers'), it's as good as new now. There does seem to be one problem, however, and I wondered if anyone else has encountered it; the wheel jack (it's never been used before) that's supplied with the vehicle, when placed in the rear jacking point, just won't lift the wheel off the ground! The point does appear to be rather too far forward but I'll just have to find a large block of wood to put underneath and hope that that works! Anyway, I've a month to sort it out as I don't like travelling too much in August.
God bless.

Welcome to the forum John. I know what you mean about August we tend to lie low during that month also.

Welcome to the forum
I can understand the jack issue. Had you had the Tranny based version you would have got a steel base unit to lift the jack higher off the ground.
Regarding the Boxer Spare Wheel hanger/cradle the other thing to watch is the bar does not rub into the sidewall of the spare tyre (applies to most Pug Boxer models) and placing a piece of ply or hardboard between the cradle and the tyre will prevent this (and keep the wheel clean) I used to spray the hanger bolts with WD40 every 6 months or so to save them siezing on the nuts.

Hi all
Many thanks for your warm welcome. I'm not terribly computer literate neither have I had any previous experience in being a contributor to Forums, so should I err in eitquette, please forgive me. Many thanks also for your advice - I shall certainly take it up. Now I'll have to go and find that block of wood!
God bless.

You are doing ok upto now John with your postings - no worries. Apart from common sense the main thing is capital letters means you are shouting at someone, so normally frowned on
