Where to fit a solar panel?
I have read so much on a number of subjects on this forum and had some great advice. I have a Neuvo Lancashire that does not have much space up top for a solar panel especially as mine has the aircon unit slap in the middle of the roof. and the tv aerial in the middle of the remaining largest space. Has anyone fitted/had fitted a panel, had the tv aerial moved and if so how easy was it to move? I am worried that if it is glued down it may not be moveable. I guess it doesn't matter where it is moved too, just extend the coax cable, but the size of panel possible is foxing me. I keep reading about you clever folk fiting 100watt panels but where the hell did you fit it:scratch head: ? If the air con means I can't fit a 100watt panel what have any of you managed to fit? I assume that no one has ever fitted a large panel forward of the front spoiler on the sloping part of the roof over the cab? I had thought I might move the aerial then mount the 100watt panel on top of the two spoilers but can't get any sense anywhere about mounting brackets. Has anyone acheived this and if you have I would be really interested in your advice. I look forward to some interesting answers, I hope:up!:

Hi,
If you have not already bought the 100 watt panel you might be able to get two 50 watt panels and mount them in different locations and linked together.
I may be barking up the wrong tree as I do not know what space is on the roof, but I assume 2 or 3 smaller panels could be cheaper than getting the ariel moved.
Best of luck.
Davy

Re: Where to fit a solar panel?
Thats a pity, I am contemplating fitting solar panel to Nuevo using roof bars ( not AS one tho) just using their fixing studs. I will not use just Adhesive as I have heard some horror stories this week of vans arriving after long journeys minus their solar panel.! Belt and braces comes to mind !

If you can post a photo of your roof from above (bedroom window?) we can probably give you some ideas.

Could a flexible panel fix on top of your aircon unit?

Re: Where to fit a solar panel?
Is there room for a couple of smaller units?
My sat-dome prevented the fitting of a large panel, so I fitted 2 smaller units, 1 either side to end up with the same output.

I had a brilliant view of my Nuevo roof from the passenger deck on this little vehicle ferry that crosses Lake Como.
