I don't believe it..........
..................just got back in from escorting 2 toddlers back to their family group, check the time 12.05 am
I was in bed when another customer rang to complain about noisy kids outside their unit. So I got up found said kids, returned them, and had a right go at the parents, explaining that it was obvious I had wasted my breath when they arrived at about 9.30pm and asked them to set up quietly and keep the kids quiet and under control
I had even put them well away from others so as to not disturb them.......................Grrrrrr !!!!!
Now I am wide awake, but have to be up for 6.30am so need to try to go back to sleep
Night night all !

Remind me - why was it that you weren't that keen on doing it all again next season?

Re: I don't believe it..........
So let me get this right!!
YOU offered YOUR job to ONE OF US; and here we were thinking we were friends!!
It must be the weather for badly behaved kids.
This afternoon I had a cup of tea in my local Morrisons and as I sat down a four-year old brat three tables away started screaming and crying and demanding that his mother give him something off the table.
This continued for thirty minutes (I was waiting for my better half or I would have quit well before this!) and incredibly, as far as I could see, the mother and her companion were the only two people in the whole café area that didn't seem to be suffering.
I think I'll go to bed myself as just the memory is giving me a headache!
Nite-nite.
Ian

Re: I don't believe it..........
I thought someone on here might have enjoyed a challenge
I was called out again at 12.40am by another camper, just as I was nodding off.
When I had a word with one of the "adults" he said "They are just being kids, what do you expect" to which I responded that I expect kids, especially that small to be in bed at this time. He responded by saying that as I was not their parents I couldn't say anything (not so politely). So I said "No, but if you insist on carrying on like this I can and will have to ask you to leave". He asked if I was chucking them off site, to which I said that I would not hesitate if this behavior continued.

Re: I don't believe it..........
I think this must be a 'generation' thing, in the 70's when my kids were young, we wouldn't DREAM of taking them to any puplic place if we thought
that 'tantrums' would arise, as it happened they never did, & we could go anyplace & no-one knew there were young-uns with us.
Also, we find we are not tolerant AT ALL nowadays, only yesterday we were in a little cafe in town, just about to order when some 'little darlings'
fired up a few tables away, parents oblivious & carried on yackking to each other, we gave each other 'that look', got up & walked out,
but what did please us, was the fact that the said adults looked up at us both, wide-eyed & obviously embarassed at our departure

I don't believe it
Oh dear Ian. Just showing your posting to Liz. Any thoughts we may have had about following you to Hendre Mynach have vanished. You would have expected things to have eased now that the little blighters have resumed their studies - seemingly not so.......!
What is wrong with some of these "parents"? I really can't understand why they think that it is OK for their offspring to behave in such a way. What's worse I suppose is what are we storing up for the future? Our son is a school teacher and he tells us things about the behaviour of some of his pupils and the problems he often encounters in trying to improve things. Like you, the support/cooperation he gets from their parents often leaves a lot to be desired.
Hope things improve over the weekend/next week.
Best wishes
Mike and Liz Riley

Re: I don't believe it..........
Hi there,
Another one we had was a few years back in a motorway services. The eighteen month old baby on the table opposite had just learned to scream that very loud, very high pitched, persistent scream cum yelp that only chlldren of that age can generate.
We (wife, brother and 95 years old Mum) had pulled in for a bit of peace and quiet having just rolled down the M1 for a couple of hundred miles but after ten minutes of regular screaming I walked over to their table and asked them if they could just keep the child quiet.
"She's only a baby." was the reply, "What can you do?"
I guess I should have said "I would have taken the child outside to save bothering other people." but as I was a bit frazzled I replied "If it was mine I'd strangle it!"
Anyway, the parents looked at each other and the father then said "Well, you are not a nice person are you?" to which I replied "Probably not, but my children did know when to be quiet." and walked back to our table.
I actually think that the child responded better than the parents because although they stayed there for another five minutes we never heard another peep out of the wee mite!
However, when all is said and done, we shouldn't be surprised at the modern trend though. Twenty-five years ago the then Prime Minister (I won't mention the bitch's name) said "There is no such thing as 'society'." and to prove her point destroyed most of the social mores that we held dear. i.e. honesty, integrity, tolerance etc etc etc.
Best regards,
Ian

Well said that man!
Society has fallen to such a low ebb, it seems that "I'm alright Jack- you" is the answer to everything these days!

Hi TD
Sorry, I might have been interested years ago when I could take the 'flack'.
Nowadays, I'm anything for a quiet life. (NB my signature!)
Keep trying, I'm sure someone would be willing to take up your offer!
Regards,
Mike D
