Now -3°c with the frost lingering and a high of 0°c before it drops again tonight to -7°c. Small chance of snow flurries today but nothing significant. We had planned a lunch out today but I suspect we won't venture over the doorstep.

-1 this morning, good frost overnight, road outside looks extremely dangerous , we don't get any gritting around the estates here, only main roads are done.
Expected -5 tonight.

Its not as cold today as was forecast a few days ago but we had light snow overnight (after yesterdays thaw) that is frozen solid and very slippery. Not planning to go out and test the roads today.

A cold frosty morning with lots of iced up cars. Our avenue looked frosty white and slippery but it wasn’t too bad to walk on. The junction were we cross a side street is normally like a skating rink because it’s in shadow most of the day but was ok to walk on this morning.
One of muttlies mates had a knitted jumper on for her walk. For some reason it was pulled over her ears so just her nose was poking out. Maybe her ears were cold.cold

Just had a delivery and the driver says that although main roads are ok, Estate roads are treacherous.

Bitterly cold this morning at -6.  Thought it had snowed during the night but it's just a really thick frost.  Met Office say's it should get sunny later but the temp isn't to rise above -2.

Another frosty morning and it’s our turn to de frost managements car. She is heading to her mates for a spa day with afternoon tea. Not my idea of a day out but her mate was given a voucher that runs out this month. I would rather spend the money on a day out in the van or even a pub stop.
Our son is bringing his bike for me to sort out his gear change so I will turn the heater up in the workshop so it’s nice and toasty warm out there.

Very frosty here too at -6°c but the forecast is for it to rise to 1°c later as the sun gets to work. No snow but the overnight temperatures are forecast to be the coldest of the winter, only -7°c here but much lower further north. Needs must so it's shopping day for us, once we get my wife's car defrosted.

Dropped to -5 overnight but its already -2 now and forecast to rise to +3 later before dropping again to -5 tonight. Managed to clear 2" of frozen snow off the car yesterday so we can go shopping today after just clearing frost this morning.

Whist de frosting the car it was minus two. It’s bin day so the Avenue is a bit chaotic with  the bin men running the gauntlet of cars with minimal vision because they havnt cleared their screens fully. This frost must have made people late by the way they are driving. Don’t they get that frost on screens could mean ice on the roads.shrugg

A little car just went straight on while trying to turn into our estate and slowly hit tree in the corner garden (no fences). No one hurt and no damage other than a big dent in the front of the car which was immobilised.

I'm surprised its not happened before as the parents on the school run don't seem to understand what ice is!!!

Peter reminded me of a funny incident when our son  was at infant school. One very cold frosty morning the pavements were lethal with ice. One of his classmates was brought to school by her dad on his electric milk float.
Cars were struggling with the ice but the milk float didn’t seem to have any trouble. Maybe this was a case were an electric vehicle had the advantage due to the weight of the batteries.

As forecasted we're at -6°c this morning, mainly cloudy day ahead with some sunny breaks and a high of -1°c if we're lucky. No sign of snow though. Bin day so the furthest I'm going today is the pavement to bring them in, that's if they get emptied.

Lowest overnight was -5, its -4 at moment rising to +1 dropping back to -4 tonight. From Monday temps are due to be back up to 9 and 11 by next Thursday.  I hope that forecast is right as we are off for a couple of nights then.

-4 at the moment.  Sun is shining so that should hopefully thaw the car out before I need to go out.

Like Tony, a high of -1 and tomorrow is to be the same, might just stay in bed tomorrow...

A cold frosty morning with crunchy grass and puddles on our walk. We stopped to chat with a couple that make a fuss of muttlie. They said they only use their car once a week to go shopping and it takes ages to clear the windows when it’s frosty.
As it is the same car as managements I was surprised he didn’t know it had a heated front screen. He said they have had the car for years and hadn’t noticed the switch. That’s my good deed for the week and muttlie got a treat as a reward.sit

Snow fall and sleet froze solid overnight , suns out thawing some areas, cars getting stuck on local hills, one up the road with a bend rear wheel after cllpping a high kerb.
Take care, stay warm.

Not quite as cold now, only -3°c rising to 1°c later and may get some light snow to go with a mainly cloudy day. We stuck a lot of washed towels out yesterday as it was quite sunny despite the cold, I was surprised how dry they were after a few hours. Don't think I will be venturing very far today.

-1 at the moment but cloudy so could snow later.  Still a thick layer of frost so might be quite slippy in places.
