Weather

Dry but cold this morning.  met Office forecasts rain for most of the day, but considering none of their recent forecasts have been right it'll probably end up dull with sunny intervals....

Cold but yesterday's wind and rain have gone. Regular pre Christmas trip to Dundee M&S for a few food treats. Surprisingly quiet at 6.45, had been open since 5 am. Got last of chocolate pine cones my daughter requested, woman behind me asked staff member about them to be told the three packets they had received had been put on the shelf. Sense that much less food on the shelves than same day last year, not sure is stock management or reduced retailer expectations

Feet up now for rest of day after busy weekend with visitors and visiting

A brighter and warmer start this morning. The breeze last night made it a chilly evening walk.
I see the shopping madness has started because Lidl car park across from us was packed at eight this morning. The only thing I think we need is bread but hopefully it will be a quick in and out.

Not weather related but the Lidl shop was done as planned. There was a little girl in a trolley singing all the way round. I have no idea what she was singing because it wasn’t in English. I think she was one of our east European naibors .
The bread was limited but I found some we like. The checkout was a bit trying for the staff. The self checkouts were locking. After a customer paid the display locked so the next customer couldn’t use the checkout even though the green light was on. The store manager was turning the checkouts off to re boot them. Not good on such a busy day.

Much milder at 9C this morning. Shopping all done, now to feign jollity for duration.

Daughters car wouldn't start last night, checked voltage this morning, 12.1 so looked ok, but it is original factory fit battery, car is 2014 Yaris diesel. Contacted Green Flag at 8.25, said they would be here before 9.25. Tracked guy on app coming from Dundee, arrived 9.05, used power bank to start, battery goosed. New Yuasa ordered from Halfords, they are coming to fit Friday morning.

Happy with that.

A brighter and warmer morning with little or no breeze. I looked across at Lidl at eight this morning and there were people waiting to go in and the car park is packed as the day has gone on. I have no plans to try any sort of shopping today. If we ain’t got it we don’t need it.
If this weather holds up until the end of the week our short break will be good to unwind from the festive season.

Bit later today as I had a run to A&E with my Mum - fell and broke her wrist this morning so she now has a stookie (that's a plaster cast for our southern friends..)

10 degrees and sunny though there is a slight drizzle.

Ridiculous 15° here . Had a wander down town , market moved from tomorrow to today, not that there's anything we need but we like the atmosphere.

A balmy 11 degrees this morning with blue sky peeping through the cloud cover.  Prezzies all opened and no arguments or angry faces (so I must have bought OK this year )

Turkey already cooked and carved and Aunty Bessie was kind enough to pre-prepare the roasties and parsnips so only need to cook them.

It was nice bright start for our morning walk and stayed like that until tea time when it became misty and damp.
When I collected our son from the pub where he works there were people sitting out in the smoking area with drinks. They stopped serving food after the pre booked Christmas dinners but the pub was busy serving drinks at half two so the kitchen staff made a run for it before the front of house put any orders through.

We've not seen beyond the bottom of the garden for three days.
Damp  and misty.
It looks like we'll be missing out on our beach walk for only the second time in over 40 years.

A grey damp and misty morning here. When I took our son into work at ten there were people sat in their cars outside the pub. It used to normal to go out for a walk on Boxing Day but it seems people would rather go to the pub instead. Saying that this weather isn’t encouraging for walking.

Not too bad today, dull and overcast but no rain which was good as I'm taking my Mum's dog out for walks as her right hand is out of commission and she can't hold the lead and her stick at the same time.
