COACHBUILT GRP SIDEWALL CRACKED
Hi All
Bought new Burford Duo April 2022.
Fitted new gauge for LPG tank as it never gave a correct reading for amount, an attempt had been tried in 2022 at the AS dealership in NI, without success.
AS fitted bike bars, bike rack and two bikes detached on route to Tipperary, whereabouts unknown in 2023.
Returned it from Ireland in April 2023 to AS HQ, for warranty repairs & bike rack.
AS fitted new bars, bike rack, however they fitted an E bike rack which is against AS guidance.
2024 Crack in GRP offside wall appeared due to structural failure.
2024 Habitation check done at M&E Lisburn, they fixed the LPG gauge by turning the gauge on the tank, to the correct position as it was fitted upside down at AS HQ when build and would never have given the true amount of gas in tank.
Cracks in front nearside coping, joining cab and MH body.
Two independent engineers reports both stated the failures are from inception of manufacture, with the entire sidewall needing replacement.
The warranty manager at Marquis Preston repeatedly stress that the sidewall would be repaired to AS Standard Operating Procedures and would not be replaced.
Internal separation wall between toilet and bedroom, detached from offside wall. leaving approximately a 5/6 mm gap.
Sargent tracker failed, replacement sent to AS.
Left MH back to Marquis dealer in Preston on 21st October and was asked by warranty manager if I had left enough diesel in vehicle to get it to AS HQ, my short reply was, I am not paying for it to go to AS HQ, your the one who told me in emails the warranty was on a R.T.Base.
Now into the eighth week without a date of return given.
Legal proceedings have been instigated
I read a post from Boggie that his was repaired and cracked again.
Anyone else with similar
problems?
Thank you in advance.

Re: COACHBUILT GRP SIDEWALL CRACKED
As a total newbie to any forum, I joined this AS one to try and find others who own/owned, AS MHs that have suffered similar failures.
Having paid £87k in 2022 for my AS Burford Duo, which is not an insignificant sum.
Together with the structural failures the MH has presented and the mountains I have had to climb regarding the dealership and manufactures failures in customer care.
Some of these failures pose a significant threat to road safety, and may already have had an impact on the safety of others.
I have instigated legal proceedings, hence the reason for reaching out in the forums.

Re: COACHBUILT GRP SIDEWALL CRACKED
I have posted on this forum with regard to a crack on the corner of a side window on our Nuevo, unlike 'Mollytardis' my attempts to contact the supplying dealer, AS service department and AS CEO/Managing Director via a recorded delivery, have all met with a stoney silence.LCDEEHAN wrote:As a total newbie to any forum, I joined this AS one to try and find others who own/owned, AS MHs that have suffered similar failures.

I wish 'LCDEEHAN' well in his instigation of legal action and would ask that they keep forum members advised of their progress. I would suspect the taking of legal action might be the only way to get AS to take the necessary remedial action.
Our previous MH was an AS Inca EL which we exchanged through Cotswold MHs after 14 years for the Nuevo EK. The Inca had been relatively trouble free with regard to the AS built/supplied portion. The Nuevo was late on delivery, due to mis-build, interior lights failed, rear view camera does not function. AS historically built quality products and provided very good service back-up at the factory; I think AS are now a shadow of their former selves.

UPDATE ON MH RETYRN FROM MARQUIS AND AS 22 12
Hi All.
Marquis and AS had my MH from 21/10/24 for repairs. Marquis emailed me on 20/12/24, saying the MH was ready, however they closed at 17:00 on the 20th and if I wished to collect it I had to make my way to AS HQ.
Flew from Belfast on 22nd, got taxi to AS HQ, the security guy asked if I could sign the docket that the repairs where complete and satisfactory, ( I refused)
I showed the security guy, vertical streaks of white paint on the side skirt and side lights, one of which has been cracked, when I rubbed the white line the paint was on my finger.
The crack in the off sidewall was repaired, the side skirting was still with a gap from off sidewall, the cracks in the nearside coping had one crack repaired with one untouched, the off side coping now has a crack in it, the dethatched interior wall has been filled with new Formica and a baton covering the previous gap, method of repair unknown, a new retaining screw holder has been fitted, which it would seem at first glance, has a screw some 6 inches in length for it to reach the offside wall, the front overhead blackout blind has been pushed upward and left as is, a new scratch is on the off side B pillar.
MH was in a filthy state, my request that they fill the LPG tank and put diesel in was explained by Marquis that they had no facility to do so, the security man confirmed there was LPG on site.
Made my way to Cairnryn in Scotland, all sailings where full and I had to wait till the midnight boat on the 23rd, with no heat, no LPG available on route from Penrith to Cairnryan, no bedding with me had to start the MH many times to stop me from freezing.
Absolutely appalling customer service from Marquis and AS, they failed in their duty of care to repair and look after my MH, have had it for 9 weeks to do what?
One couldn't make this up.
Unfortunately I must wait until after the holiday period, for Legal consultation.
Stay safe
