Hi Peter just received the Sargent cable with the four pin plug and MC4 connectors fitted, removed the ec328 to access the 4 pin socket and there’s already a connector in there which feeds the antenna box, I thought this socket was for a solar panel

And the socket is next to the black plug in your picture and nothing next to the white plugs

I suggest that you contact Sargent and ask whether they made any variants with a different socket layout, as you describe. But I think it is very very unlikely that Sargent would use that exact shape of socket for a different purpose. The EC328 on my van is only slightly different manufacture date than yours (around a year more recent) and it has the correct socket, in the right place.

Unless the EC328 has been physically modified, that 4 way connector can only be used as an input from a solar panel.

I'm not sure what you mean by antenna box but I would suggest that its probably a way of accessing a cable route to the roof where there has been at one time a solar panel.

Is there any way you can take a photo of the roof to look for evidence of an unused cable entry point?

Pre wired for solar this cable was hidden in the trunking, fitted the new Sargent cable and connected to our 100w aferiy suitcase panel and placed in windscreen, all working good so far. Thanks for your replies and help. Cheers Sean
