Gas bottle door hinges
Hi everyone
My 2004 Nuovo has had the original gas compartment hinges replaced with small butt hinges. As these were coming loose I investigated and realised that these replacements were not as per original and totally inadequate. Does anyone know what the original looks like, technically what they are called and where I might be able to buy some? EBay seems the logical start point but knowing the correct name for any search would be a helpful starting point. I am guessing the style would be a smaller version of the main door hinge. Any advice would be really appreciated. David

On my Gloucester gas locker there are two 2" stainless butt hinges, original fitment, riveted to door and main body .

Thanks Peter. Unfortunately on my vehicle the aluminium profiles used round the door prevent a standard butt hinge working to allow the door to open properly. I suspect a cranked version of some sort may have been used but the ones I have seen on Google images don’t appear to allow the door to clear the frame adequately.

Google “parliament hinges” and “projection hinges.” They might be what you are after.
