Remis Vario 2 Roof Light
I have to replace the winding gear in the roof light. How do I get the saftey catch to open if the winder is broken and will not lift window?
Any ideas or help would be gratefully received.

Would it help if you removed the inner trim , it is held in place with spring clips , simply pull it down to remove , the winder stays on the trim .

When I replaced mine I had a similar problem but I managed to open it by turning the handle and putting gentle pressure on the window and I managed to open it, a bit of jiggling helped.. My plan B was to use something flat but had some flexibility to insert between to the window and frame to push the hook back to free the window, but I didn’t have to use that though, luckily.
I have a photo taken from above that shows the hooks if that would be useful to you.
You do have to remove the inner trim but that does help in freeing it.
