Help needed accessing Carver Cascade Pollensa
I have just discovered some damp on the carpet just outside the ?plywood enclosure of the Carver Cascade on my 1999 Pollensa. I can't see any visible screws to remove the carpet-covered box that surrounds the heater. Can anyone advise me please?
The box and heater are underneath the forward facling two seater sofa which slides out on runners. I can't see how to release the seat and runners from the frame. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Help needed accessing Carver Cascade Pollensa
I don't know the Pollensa at all, but the general rule seems to be that the easiest way to access a Cascade is from outside. Typically you should be able to undo the fixing screws and slide it out a small amount and that gives you access to the pipework to disconnect them. IIRC the exceptions are the power control board, which is easiest to unplug from inside, and there are sometimes also fabric straps which I think are just intended as strain relief - on the last one I dealt with they were just Velcro straps - easy to undo.
FWIW I could not find any easy way to remove the sliding drawer on my Flair, and the only conclusion I could reach was that the drawer was fitted while the seat box was outside the van, and that the seat box was screwed down to the floor of the van with the drawer already in place.

Thanks Roopert. What you say makes some sense. the pump pulsing noise is coming from the enclosed cover of the cascade so I'll dig it out from outside and take a look. Presumably all the hoses - cold, hot and gas will be flexible to allow the boiler to be removed. I have already replaced the boiler burner - the original one had obviously been issuing flames through the flue terminal, and the burner was in dust inside.

Yes - IIRC the gas pipe looped round on the Flair but it only gave a few inches of leeway - enough to access the pipes and disconnect them. It should just hang there happily enough if it's only out a short way while you're doing the disconnecting/reconnecting. I confess that I worked on mine inside the van the first time, and I can confirm that removing the pipe connections from inside the van is not in any way easy!

I guess the gas supply flexi hose would be due for renewal at 25 yrs old. That is to say, was due for renewal 15 years ago. Actually it is surprising how long the proper gas hoses will last, way beyond the recommended 10 years. I need to do a gas safety check.
Talking of which I would guess the kitchen cooker might well be attached with a flexible hose. The fridge isn't, you can pull those out and the gas supply is via a coil of copper pipe.

I'm almost 100% sure that the Cascade on my van (1999) was exactly as with the fridge: no flexi, just an extended loop of copper tube. If it had had a flexi I would have replaced it, so it can't have had - though of course A/S may have varied that on other conversions.
