Post by VRH Fri May 06, 2011 10:33 am

Hello Everyone

We recently bought a "autosleeper duetto", and looking forward to using it and also being part of this forum.
The curtains in the duetto, could do with a wash, I have tried to take them off the rails, but was unable to do so. Any advice/suggestions would be welcome.

Also many thanks to Paulmold for recommending me to this forum.

Hi VRH,
Glad to have pointed you in the direction of this forum, welcome. As regards your curtains, I would have thought that most Autosleeper van conversions such as the Duetto, Symphony, Harmony etc would have the curtains attached by similar methods. I've never removed mine so can't help at the moment but will go and look later to see how they are fixed and if I can see how to remove them I'll be back to tell you how I got on. Meanwhile someone may have done it and can tell you better than me.

Well I've just looked at mine and it appears very simple. At the end of each curtain track there is a screw, simply loosen it, slide it out of the track and the curtains then slide out of the track with the clips (mine are not usual curtain hooks) still attached to the curtains. At the 'fixed' end of each curtain, it is similar but a double screw holding the last clip in place, again loosen both screws and slide out of the track. Obviously the method could be different if different type of tracking used depending on date of manufacture.

Post by VRH Fri May 06, 2011 4:51 pm

Thanks to everyone. I have managed to get the driver and the passengers side off and its already washed and hanging on the line. It was a bit fiddly, tomorrow will tackle the other ones. Will let you all know how I get on putting them back on!!!
Really couldn't have done it without your assistance.

Be interesting to know how well they wash. Might do ours if yours come out OK. Incidently we have olde floral curtains with the abstract greeny seating, odd combination, always wondered if our curtains are original.

Welcome VRH to the forum.
I too am interested in how the washed curtains turn out. Paticularly if they shrink or not.

Hello Empty Curtains

Post by VRH Sat May 07, 2011 10:19 pm

Our "1999 duetto" curtains are also a floral type and we also have a "greeny seating". The curtains were washed at thirty degrees and didn't shrink. I am very pleased . However, the interesting bit will be putting them back on the rail. Will have to wait, until my days off next week when I am less stressed.
Maybe I should have listened to the hubby and just left them?

You can also unclip the curtain rail from it's spring clip brackets - easier to fit that way by threading the curtains onto the rail first up!
