Re: Weather
Much cooler and breezier today, had some light rain but due to improve later.
Bridgewater gardens were excellent yesterday. This year been to lots of NT and NTS gardens which are all lovely and inspiring, last month went to Sandringham where new developments since King Charles took over showed how modern garden design and unlimited labour and resources (compared to NT) can produce stunning visual gardens. Bridgewater shows what happens when true plantsmen get to work. Beds in walled garden were awesome, having the space and vision to plant 100s of the same plant in a block where I would do 3 or 5, good ground prep and knowing how to look after plants meant size and scale of individual plants was also several times what I could hope to produce.
Highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful down at Falmouth yesterday, didn't seem to be too many visitors, talking to the locals it has been that way all season so comfortable to park. On the other hand the roads are heaving so the visitors must be going somewhere!
Overcast this morning, a little overnight rain but not enough to stop outdoor plans.
Enjoy your travels everyone!
They were down west, GH. The car parks from Hayle and Gwithian up the coast road to Portreath were packed. Visitors everywhere! Yes, it was a glorious day but there’s a bit more cloud about this morning.

Re: Weather
Odd spot of rain today but still useable and warm. Phone rung during the afternoon siesta, Estate agent "Will be there in 15 minutes for the viewing"..... "That's tomorrow surely"....."No its today"
15 minute panic to get everything ship shape and stowed away, just waiting for the outcome now.
Quietly optimistic but suspecting a silly offer is coming. There was a saying frequently used when I used to sell and lease passenger jets " Money talks BS walks", I suspect I may be trolling that out a few times!
Have a great evening all

Positive thing required GH!
No rain here today, total opposite, beautiful till lunch time then cloudy.
Yesterday's rain was much needed, new self adhesive gutter working a treat and previous window leak now cured....

Re: Weather
Got a walk in yesterday and didn't get wet , there was heavy rain in the morning but cool and dry for the rest of the day. Different proposition today with a typically Lakes wet and misty start, then a break of several hours before more heavy rain rolls in from the west. No walks for me today, I'm afraid I've become a fair weather walker There is a nice bus service outside the site though

Drizzly mild start, wind much less than yesterday. Drive home today then time to start planning September trip, not sure where yet but some inspiration will hit.
That's 37 nights in the van so far this year. Not bad

Still 20 plus degrees so warm but rain overnight and overcast now, nothing much planned for the day so catching up with financial stuff and making sure everything is ready for our return to Vancouver Island in three weeks time. Hoping some news will come on the house today, we shall see.
Enjoy your travels and take care if at home.

Re: Weather
A pleasant day yesterday driving up to North Yorkshire but there was a chilly breeze in the evening. During our walk today it varied from breezy to warm until we got back to the van and it’s drizzling with the tops of the hills in clouds.
Is this the end of summer or will we have an Indian summer in September.

Handy shower overnight, garden and gardener happy! More work for the robots today with that extra 0.5mm of growth of the grass!
Not a pic which will win prizes, but just to show the effect the new guttering is having re window seal. As you can see the water was running off the roof all the way down the sides of the van, worse at the front which is considerably lower..

Re: Weather
Forecast for yesterday was pretty accurate with the rain starting late afternoon. We had very strong gusts of wind overnight making enough noise to keep us both awake. Still a bit breezy but it should settle into a warm and sunny day. A walk is back on the agenda
I was just thinking (dangerous habit, I know:snigger:) about the effects of inflation (we all do don't we, or is it just me). It's just that 5 days camping in the Lakes has cost me the same as it was to buy my first flat 55 years ago

Oooh a bacon buttie would go down very well right now....
Back from the early shop, sun is shining and leaves are dropping like snow, wasn't expecting that until a few weeks time. Forecast looks reasonably good and it is 20 plus degrees so s decent useable day.
Enjoy your travels, dog walkies or whatever you are up to!

If I was to get, now, £24000 for my 22 yrs old motorhome, it would have bought 2.5 of our first houses!! (1975)
Sunny now, off to Norwich for eye check up...

Re: Weather
The gusty wind never really stopped here so, although it was bright, it only hit around 18°c. It made for good walking conditions though, we only did around 5 miles but that's about my limit now. It was good watching the cloud shadows across the likes of Grisedale Pike (which I climbed 66 years ago) and Skiddaw (which I've never climbed). Should be a similar day today with lighter winds so a bit warmer. Red Arrows are due to overtly here on their way to and from Edinburgh, so the seats are already out.

Re: Weather
A warm start with a slight breeze. Now we are back the outdoor jobs must re start. My first task will be treating the fence panels were we removed the ivy. Management is going to attack the rest of the ivy on the other side of the garden. It must have been the right weather for growing ivy because it’s thicker and spread further this time.
As much as it covers tatty fence panels and the shed it’s got to go. This year it’s got under the eves of the shed and inside.
Maybe our garden is a bit unloved but the garden waste bin is full very quickly only being emptied once a fortnight . We could go to the dump but it means bagging it up and fighting our way through the road works. There’s a limit to how much you can get in managements Fiesta and I don’t think taking the Rienza is a good idea.

Re: Weather
A lovely day here so quite productive with garden jobs and fence painting. Management put the washed bedding from our trip out to dry this afternoon and it started to drizzle. Typically as soon as I brought the washing in the drizzle stopped.
Hopefully tomorrow I can finish the fences and start on the shed and workshop as long as the gunk holds out. If I run out a trip to Screwfix will wait until Monday.

Re: Weather
Warm with a few spots of rain today, spent most of the day getting rid of accumulated "stuff" that has sat their for years just in case, guarantee next week I will need something now ditched.
Forecast is looking good, it is Falmouth week so will not be straying far as it will be heaving for sure with that and boardmasters in Newquay at the same time.
Have a great evening all

No meteor showers last night or any others for that matter. Thanks to whoever let their dog escape in the early hours, we really enjoyed the 30 minutes of howling outside our van at 3am Sun's up
