Burford 2021 Headlight convertors
Does anybody know if you have to use headlight beam convertors, as according to the handbook page 93 it says:- Vehicles with halogen or static LED head lamps. Changing the headlamps is not necessary. The legal requirments will also be fulfilled in countries with left-and-right hand traffic
So I assume the beam pattern is flat and does not kick to the left when on dipped beam?
Any views on the subject would be appreciated

There are some headlights that have a flat dipped beam , however with new technology I believe that some vehicles that have GPS automatically change headlight dip patterns according to vehicles location .

Hi,
I generally try not to drive at night on the continent, however I have in the past applied those headlamp sticker in the probably vain hope that they are in the right position and are in some way effective.
I would look on the instructions that come with the stickers and if your vehicle and year of manufacture are listed, you probably need them.
Incidentally, whilst I've regularly seen British drivers applying these stickers, often at the last minute, I have never seen any continental drivers applying stickers before crossing the channel to the UK. In fact I can't recall seeing any European cars with any headlamp stickers. Perhaps their cars have different headlamps!

I would stick them on, appropriately, anyway, if only to keep Froggie plod having another excuse to stop you.
In, what could well be, a world first, I recently say a Belgian applying his at Hook of Holland travelling to UK!!
We do drive in the dark, mostly in tunnels, lots of those especially in Norway, it impressed me how actually, effective they were. Also it is law in some countries and common sense in most to drive with the headlights on at all times.......

This is very easy to check - simply park the van a short distance back from a wall and look at the beam pattern on the wall! In my experience, most vehicles these days do still have a tilt up at the nearside to help identify hazards/people on the verge of the road. It's even true of the LED headlights on my current (2021) car, and there is no built-in facility to correct them on that either.
A few years ago there did seem to be a trend to have movable elements inside the headlight, operated by a lever - but I don't think it's at all common now. They probably saved around £2.50 per car by deleting that feature.

I have headlight stickers but have never fitted them, on the sprinter you can simply adjust the height of the beam from the dashboard, I am sure you can on other chassis too! Never had an issue on the continent with the lights angled to maximum down position. Never fitted the "Angles mort" stickers either but still carry them.
If It were me I would carry them in case you are stopped but wouldn't bother fitting them.
