Window fell out
First trip out in our motorhome to try out our 2015 Bourton. Hot day’s drive arrive at Salisbury.
Setup, wife says “open window to let in fresh air. Undo catches and bang! the big hab window just drops off its catches and falls to the floor. Luckily it did not break.
Struggled to try a put the window back in , with no success. Managed to half lock it back in place and gaffer tape the top part where it is supposed to swivel.
Guess who is going back to the dealer tomorrow? Not happy.
Fully packed MH, can’t leave it as we have no security…..

Re: Window fell out
That’s unfortunate and, although it’s no help to you now, it’s an example of why people are often advised to take their first trip close to home.
You could perhaps ring the dealership to see if they’ll agree (and pay) to you using a repair shop or mobile tech while you’re away. Hope you get it sorted.

I expect the site will have details of local repairers. Try Keith Biffen at Amesbury who is mobile and may be able come to your van:

Re: Window fell out
I would look at sticking it back in place with a black skaflex type adhesive if your dealer won't sort it that is ,

Window fell out
Only got gorilla tape with me so should be ok for the 30 mile journey in the morning.
It’s not the way I wanted to start a break, just takes the edge off it. More wine required

Window fell out update
Well….. this morning drove to Swindon Caravans, where I bought the MH from. And Lee Mathews, one of the sales rep that I dealt with couldn’t have been more helpful. They replaced the pistons and clipped in the window, all back to normal., one very happy customer. Would definitely deal with them again.

I hope you are able to return to your trip in Salisbury. The sun is still shining, there might be some damp tonight but after that it looks OK. Its market day tomorrow as well.Cooper1946 wrote:Well….. this morning drove to Swindon Caravans, where I bought the MH from. Window fell out
After travelling across Salisbury Plain, I was amazed how big it is. I suppose you need a big space to fire artillery shells. But it was very picturesque but the road was twisty but ok. Drove through Avebury, lots of ‘flower people’ around…nice.
After stopping in Swindon to get the repair done we were closer to home so that is what we did. Will return to Salisbury it’s a nice site .

Re: Window fell out
That's good. I've never stayed on the Camping & Caravan site so I don't know what its actually like but it has a prime location and if you choose the right route its a pleasant walk into the centre of Salisbury in one direction and in the other direction to Old Sarum and the Woodford Valley and with a bike to Stonehenge & Amesbury. There are buses as well. Next time you visit Salisbury they may have finished the water park which is a building site at the moment but looking very promising. I've always thought a good way of visiting Salisbury without the hassle and expense of driving and parking is to stay at https://www.airviewfarm.com/ in the New Forest which is a nice site and location. From there its a reasonable walk to the X3 bus stop which not only takes you to the centre of Salisbury but to other places as well. It's only £2 each way and free with a bus pass.Cooper1946 wrote:After travelling across Salisbury Plain, I was amazed how big it is. I suppose you need a big space to fire artillery shells.
