Nuevo Gas Tank
Just wondering if anyone has ever filled their Nuevo gas tank from empty, and if so how much did it take? According to our manual we have a 25lt tank which will fill to 80%, so it should take 20 litres. We’ve only ever been able to put 10 litres in, even when the gauge is showing red. Short of letting it run completely empty it’s hard to know if the gauge or the manual is wrong (in our experience the manual is rarely to be believed!!)
I ask because we want to go to Orkney and Shetland where, as far as I can see, there are no lpg stations to be found! Anyone know different please?!

Re: Nuevo Gas Tank
That’s pretty well much the same as I have experienced with my Nuevo.
I would suggest nothing to worry about.

It’s well discussed & regarded online that the Gas-It gauges are inaccurate & when showing red most people agree the bottle is still half full rather than empty, confirmed with you only getting 10ltrs in when yours is showing red.

Re: Nuevo Gas Tank
Unfortunately the lpg station Tinwheeler mentions on Shetland no longer sells it But apparently you can get it at Rearo, Lerwick for a flat rate of £40! Better than no gas at all!

Really! Thanks for the update. It was a pump in a quarry manned by whoever was working there at the time.Bertie Bus wrote:Unfortunately the lpg station Tinwheeler mentions on Shetland no longer sells it But apparently you can get it at Rearo, Lerwick for a flat rate of £40! I remember our tank was down to red but only took £6 to fill and the operative said that’s usually the way with MH tanks.

Re: Nuevo Gas Tank
I was getting a bit concerned as my red light came on last week ,only took 10 litres, could it be due to the tank orientation not being fitted correctly,

The experience of many on the forum, me included, is that when the red light comes on there is still approximately half a tank of gas remaining.

Re: Nuevo Gas Tank
By far the most likely cause. Had mine re-aligned and since then the gauge shows as per the table posted on the Fact Sheet I.e. pretty accurately - far more accurate than those in the water tanks!Molly3 wrote:I was getting a bit concerned as my red light came on last week ,only took 10 litres, could it be due to the tank orientation not being fitted correctly,

Re: Nuevo Gas Tank
I kept finding that the gauge is in red and yet still half full but then looking for somewhere to top up as being unsure what is left.
I have now fitted a Mopeka Pro to the tank and it is extremely accurate. Not cheap but a fraction of getting a bigger tank which was my first thought as we are always off ehu.
