Trooper 2003 Empty Trooper 2003

Post by andrewedmondson Sun Jul 31, 2022 10:40 pm

I've posted on this most helpful forum several times and intend to post the repairs and improvements I've made to my Trooper.

Due to failing health, I am reluctantly selling, as I no longer have the energy for travelling.

I have uploaded a YouTube video here: https://youtu.be/GcdgD4eoB7k

Here is a link to 94 photos: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gh6sA4TakpTZENka0bFX0l0vsQEC536c?usp=sharing

Here are the details.

2.5 TDI with 95 500 miles on the clock.

Interior furnishing completely stripped and replaced, fitting a wooden ceiling, and professional upholstery for all seats, including cushioning.

Redesigned rear seat base for increased storage and to allow long objects to be transported.

Curtains newly lined with blackout lining.

New roller blind blackout material.

Internal blackout insulation foil panels for all windows.

Additional roof mattress panel for full length upper bed. 200W solar panel with wifi controller. Rewired with improved fusing and switches.

Three 85Ah AGM batteries: 2 leisure controlled by a wifi B2B charger. 2 USB and 2 power sockets added. 6 LED strip light bulbs.

ATOTO S8 Android radio with rear camera and wifi steering control and diagnostic dongle.

Bespoke wooden compost toilet made to fit lower compartment.

Thermal and sound insulation throughout, including inside engine compartment.

New flooring (alternative blue carpeting and wood-effect vinyl available too).

Fresh and waste water tanks removed, new taps, new stainless hangers, pipes insulated.

Gas locker redesigned to double gas storage to 7.8kg, with gas regulator (one full bottle), resealed, new underfloor draft baffle.

New original back door, professionally sprayed and fitted.

All new door seals.

New Fiamma bike rack.

Fridge/freezer, cooker and diesel heater in good working order.

New diesel heater exhaust and clamps.

New rear exhaust section. New rear brake disks, new caliper. 1 yr old tyres. Recent timing belt. Engine in excellent condition.

I have only used the camper for 7 days since refurbishment and travelled only 2000 miles during the last year.

Many spares and equipment available for instant holidaying (see last photos in link above).

Outstanding cosmetic work that I planned for the next couple of years: wheel arch edges (professional),  replace driver side wing mirror (this works perfectly though), minor rust spots.

New MOT. New tax.

I paid £22 000 less than a year ago and spent at least £5000 on materials plus 4-5 months of work.

Price: £24 000

I'm about to remove the van from sale and lend it to a family member, as we have just renewed our insurance.
Available for another 7 days.

I've got a the T5 Trooper, and you have given me a lot of ideas. Love what you have done. Well done, it's a real shame you cannot enjoy all the work you've completed. The Van is a credit to your efforts.

Change of plan.
Reducing price to £20 000 for quick sale.
Funds going to a new project.
One of the reasons we bought this camper van was because of the insulated raised roof walls rather than a pop top tent. Much warmer for winter.
