Four 15” Alloy rims and Yokohama Winter Tyres Empty Four 15” Alloy rims and Yokohama Winter Tyres

4 x 15 inch Alloy wheels + Winter Tyres for Boxer based AS Symbol or similar.
The alloy rims have been on my 2008 Symbol since new and are in very serviceable but cosmetically average condition. See photos below and as fitted on my profile picture. The PCD of the rims is 5 x 118.
The tyres are Yokohama WY07 M&S in 215/70 15C 109/107R and have between 4mm & 5mm of tread left. They were fitted in October 2017 and have done approx 25000 miles.
These are perfectly useable all year round but are a definite advantage in winter conditions .
Up for sale only because I’ve replaced the wheels with larger 16 inch rims.
I’m asking for £250 collection only but would consider delivering within a reasonable (50 miles) radius of Warwick.
Any questions, please send me a pm.
Paul

No takers? So I’m now open to offers.
I might not have done them justice with my condition description which would have been better as “good used with only age related cosmetic marks” but the photos are a good guide.
Anyway I really need to get them out of my garage so am open to offers.
A second set of wheels (with winter Tyres) is actually very useful if you have the space. And I haven’t!

I went to 16” mainly to improve the ride but also to have a more accurate speedo. Both have been achieved by fitting Michelin Agilis Cross Climate with a 75 profile. No chance yet to test their winter performance though!
Finding 16” rims with a 118 PCD was difficult because the standard ones all seem to be 5x130.
I eventually find some good steel ones on eBay and can forward you a link if you like.

Have you told your insurer? On my Prius car I wanted to change from 17inch alloys with low profile tyres to 15inch alloys with standard profile tyres. Before placing my order I rang my Insurers. I was told that they would not insure vehicles where wheel size had been changed. I asked why but they wouldn't say. And I was changing from low profile "boy racer" tyres to basic cooking tyres and rims!

Good point!
A friend recently had a Dash Cam professionally wired in to his car and told the insurance company. Only to be informed that he had made a modification and therefore wasn’t insured any more. Inevitably there was a big increase in premium so he moved elsewhere. Barmy!
But thanks for the reminder, I will check out what my insurance company says.

I changed from 215 to 225 width that has a larger diameter, very impressed with the change. Our old tires where rock solid.

Anything that increases the tyre wall height should improve the ride. Or more accurately from my perspective, the “crashing” over broken surfaces.
I went for 215/75 on my 16” and would have opted for 225 but could only find them with a higher load rating = stiffer walls. The improvement with the 215s is very noticeable though.
I also lost some of the “crashing” at the rear by replacing the rather solid buffers between the rear spring leaves with more compressible rubber ones from a Ford Transit Connect I think. A bit of fiddling around and some minor modifications and they can be made to fit.
I suppose that we should never forget that it’s just a basic delivery van underneath!
