Have a good holiday weekend all!
Tag is outside in the back garden, Hog, keeping the ruddy Magpies and cats away from the fledglings , one Magpie has already got at one of the BB nests, Tag found two dead fledgling from the first nest last night.
Mind we had a terrible 24hr period of freezing hail and heavy rain, so any young birds outside the nest wouldn't like long I would think.
Have a nice weekend, roads are busy now.

We made plans to meet my sister and brother in law in Mablethorpe so the rain this morning was not welcome if we were having lunch outside. After we got south of the wolds the rain stopped so it was a chilly but nice picnic between our Rienza and there camper.
Muttly grumbled at there dog when she she got close to him but that was it. He got back in and fell asleep on his mat until we walked up to the beach. The walk on the beach was lovely if a bit chilly in the wind. A young dopey dog charged up to Muttly and wouldn’t stop pestering him. Even when Muttly gave him a good telling off. The owner stood quite a way from us yelling rather than coming to get the dope. In the end my brother in law let rip at the owner. Muttly is settling in well but dosnt appreciate being pestered by an out of control dopey mutt.
It was a nice drive back in the late afternoon sun. Typically the bank holiday is looking like it’s going to be soggy. No matter it might be dry enough next week to enjoy our time away starting Tuesday.rainyday

A lovely bright start this morning with the chorus from one of our resident blackbirds in his favourite tree in the front garden.
No proper plans for today apart from putting the cover on the duvet for next week. I think it will be the heavier  duvet for now with it being chilly at night.
Muttly will get a short walk today locally. He knows his own area now and seems to know were we are going. Even walking on the main road he wags his tail but stays close to us.
I didn’t mind the dog coming to say hello and socialise with muttly yesterday. But charging round him must have irritated him . The size of the beach means there’s lots of room for dogs to be apart if they want to be.
He must have been tired last night because we could here him snoring from our bedroom.

Not a bad start here, a few clouds but not cold or windy. Walk round the village this morning, keeping away from the tourist areas from now on. Roads are getting very busy. Tomorrow looks like the rain will arrive so may try and get some more painting done today, one of those jobs that takes ages and better done it stages!
Have a great day all

Glad the new Muttly is settling in Dave, we used to have a keeshond and he was really scared of other dogs, he got chased in to a bog once by another dog and Lady G had a hell of a job getting him out. He didn't want to go out for walks for ages afterwards.

Not actually weather related but my sister was saying there Golden Retriever is ver wary of Terriers.. Apparently when she was a puppy they passed a lady sat on a bench in there country park with a Terrier fastened to her walking frame.
As they passed the lady the Terrier lunged at her dog. There dog ran on up the track but the Terrier ran after her towing the walking frame behind it. When they both got to the barrier posts for the car park the walking frame became detached from the Terrier. It chased there dog all the way back to there car.
A park warden in the car park grabbed the Terrier by its harness and dragged it back to the lady. There was a heated argument about her walking frame being wrecked but no apology for the way her dog behaved.
It’s not the dogs that need lessons the owners that should be taught how to handle there dog in public. It was bad enough dog vers dog but if it had been a child it chased the outcome could have been really bad.

Weather turned nasty around noon, heavy downpours along the coast, especially here.
We had appointments at specsavers and as we couldn't go in together I sat n the car and watched the day trippers eating their soggy chips.
Cleared up nicely now,but still chilly.
Have a nice day.

Lots of gulls up this morning, blackies leading the Dawn chorus.
Tag was keeping the local cats on the move this morning, seems to be dozens out after the young fledglings.
Have a nice day.

Its Bank Holiday in the UK so we should exspect this change in weather. Nothing better than building sand castles in the rain and huddling together in a seaside shelter with a bag of chips and scraps if you are lucky. rainyday

It’s really blustery and wet here but one of resident blackbirds is tweeting his head off in the front garden. He must be clinging on to the branch.

Hope the dentist goes well Tony and you have a good time clearing out Boaby.
Forecast today is sunny down here but looking out the window it doesn't look too settled and is still very windy. Birds are much more active today the sunflower hearts have really increased the variety of feeders. Not had a lot of problem with gulls this year, maybe the farmer next door having a quite loud bird scarer is doing the trick, doesn't seem to bother the rooks too much though.
Blowing and mowing today as long as the rain holds off.

Turned out chair bed weather again yesterday afternoon, today sunny start and a light breeze. Big day today, being visited by the Police and Crime Commissioner whilst doing some volunteer work, allegedly being taken for coffee after.
On past performance bet they get the order wrong... police

Off for the second jabs later as well, busy day.

It’s been a bit mixed here in Helmsley. Cold and bright during our walk. Whilst we sat in the walled garden it  became very dark and started to hail. By the time I got my waterproof on it had stopped.
The breeze is cold but we can sit inside with the door open this afternoon. Muttly is lying in the doorway watching a dog from the van opposite us.
