TV Aerial Dust cap
Hi there
On inspection of my TV aerial on the roof on my Nuevo EK I saw that the dust protector cap/boot was perished. As it is a Teleco product it was not possible to get a replacement therefore I purchased a universal CV joint rubber boot at cut it to size and it fits better than the original.
Hope this is useful for others.

You'll find instructions in the Factsheets section (home page index).

That's a good tip - there was a thread here only a couple of months ago asking for solutions to exactly that problem!

Magic. I have the same problem on a 2016 Nuevo and found the same issue with getting a replacement. On my way to the motor factors now. Many thanks for posting such a brilliant solution

Dear Moët Chandon,
Brilliant suggestion, can I ask what CV boot you purchased? IE what car and model was it for? Thanks again. Chris.

Further to the above I didn’t use the metal clips provided but used black cable ties only because it looked neater

Re: TV Aerial Dust cap
Great idea, but observe that there is a water trap that in time may find its way past the cable tie. Just needs the top convolution to be trimmed off. The original boot avoided this. Something close to my heart as was caught out when designing ship borne equipment in an earlier life!

I’ve left the water trap rubber still on with its metal spring clip and then put the new cv joint boot over the top. I’ve gone for the belts and braces approach

Re: TV Aerial Dust cap
Moet Chandon - just ordered a boot. Inspected the roof of our 2017 EK and, sure enough, the boot's perished. Any advice on the fitting procedure ?

Have you purchased a split cv boot or a whole one. The split one is easy to fit as you can leave the aerial in place. I used thick cable ties to fix with.

Hi Moet,
it's a split one, same as your photo.

Then just leave the aerial in situ. Raise it a little then cut to size and fit. I got easy access through the sunlight roof. Best of luck
