Sam from Leeds has been critical of this forum, and had it been on the Facebook page he would be zapped no question. This is one difference between here and there.

Sam if you  dont like it here nobody forces you to come on.

All you have to do is Not Sign On and when the list of inactive users is edited you can be removed.    This may sound odd to a lot of readers but the list is kept as accurate as possible unlike elswhere that claims over 4000 members!!

Well said roli. I did see the post you refer to but thought probably best not to comment however I very much agree with your sentiments and I am sure many others on this forum will also agree.

Yes, it disappeared juts after I 'liked' your post and Sam posted that he would delete it - not being an FB expert, can you personally delete a post you started and everyone else's comments?

Yes you can delete/edit your posts on FB. If you started the thread and then delete the opening post, then all responses disappear as well. I'm not sure how long you have to delete/ edit , maybe the option always remains.

Well done Roger.

As someone said in the thread, there is usually a common denominator present when the verbal fisticuffs begin.

There is absolutely no need to be confrontational and aggressive on this forum of all places, even when someone tries to help in a way that doesn't perfectly fit in with your own viewpoint!  shrugg

P.S.  I don't think I can delete my posts. Should here be a "delete" button??

I can edit a post and leave it blank, but that's not the same thing.  think_smiley_46 scratch head

The question was about Facebook posts.

I have on the odd occasion seen a delete lozenge next to the edit lozenge on this forum but it doesn't normally appear, I think it should.

Sam Wilson had deleted the thread.     I private messaged John Street and this was his reply to my message where I suggested he delete the post.    I shall probably be banned now from the facebook page as he has zapped people for less in the past.

None of us deleted it only Sam, I actually found it interesting and asked the rest of our admin team to keep it going but Sam deleted, I can't say I blame him.
It's not often I ask a post to continue but it's down to our members in this case.
We would never go into the AS forum and tell them how to run it.
I am very aware who the members are that from the forum without looking in my memo.

May I remind members that we are subject to Data Protection Regulations and you can be certain Ed would NOT disclose any names etc to 3rd parties and other than those I know or may have met over the years unless you use your name or a very obvious "handle" I dont know your names either.

I have had an apology from John for the tone of his reply as there had been developments in their group.  Another member who queried the post had a response with a few more details.  All friends again

There are quite a few members of this forum who are also a member of the FB group (me included). Facebook uses people's real names, this forum doesn't (with very few exceptions). The only people the Admin of the FB group can possibly know are those who have openly posted that they are members here but he still won't know their pseudonym here so he won't know who is posting what and that's if he visits the forum at all.

Oh... I'm not on Facebook so I'm guessing this doesn't affect me?

Thanks for the info!
