Autosleeper VW T4 Trooper for Sale Empty Autosleeper VW T4 Trooper for Sale

I was intending to sell my lovely van this year anyway, but sadly it has recently developed a leak from the roof, or maybe top of screen, so will need some attention.

It is mechanically sound, always passes MOT without any problem It is reg 1994, and has a 2L petrol engine with just over 100,000 miles on clock, but drives beautifully, and the usual comfortable Autosleeper interior.

Anyone interested in making me an offer?

Good luck with the sale - petrol engines are getting much more popular now!

I know you didn't ask for advice, but if you can get the cause of the leak investigated in case it's a relatively cheap fix, it will make a significant difference to the money you'll get for it...

Yes, I have tried to find someone to fix it but can't find anyone decent to do it locally.
Had a silly quote from a posh leisure vehicle place, and my local garage weren't happy to take it on as they didn't know how the conversion was made..

Not sure if it is getting in round windscreen or above the screen, where the platic trim meets the metal. Carpet is wet in both footwells. I have newspaper down to try and absorb it, and try and dry it out whenever the weather is dry

Look around the top of the Windscreen / Door pillar is the water coming down inside the pillar, check the drain vents in the black plastic trim are clear. If water building up in the gutter it could be finding a weak spot
I had a Talbot S/L and it was weak welds at the top of the pillar to roof weld that had pinholes. I painted twice with the correct colour and that solved it.
It could just need a Window Rubber but taking the Windscreen out you could find the metalwork rusted away.
If all else fails try parking Nose up as a test.

T4 windscreens are a known problem either corrosion or the glass detaching from the frame. If you sit in the van and push against the edge of the windscreen particularly the top corners you may see the screen push away from the frame. Apparently it can be some distance several millimetres or more, one example was a couple of inches of lift. If its this the screen can be refitted

Van is sold now. No private interest, so sold to a dealer who made reasonable offer and assured me they could get it back into good condition for someone else to enjoy
