Hi Alf, you are qiite correct in the fact of not wanting cold water, but the wife has decided she would get over it and it would not be a deal breaker. I am more concerned with the engine reliability, though, and whether it has a dual mass flywheel. Also I am worried about chassis rust, being as I can no longer do the jobs myself.

Adie Having run a fleet well 10 Beringo’s and have had a Berlingo and a Partner privately myself.
We had a Romahome Hylo with the older 1997 TD Engine was by more reliable they will run forever with very little maintainance.  I think the build quality of Romahome is properly the best of UK Motorhomes. Our Hylo did not have hot water just the Eberpacher heating this was mounted in the outside offside locker as long as we had heating and a fridge we could manage we had 2 x1 1/2ltr stainless steel flasks and we filled them each night and morning once you get into a routine you manage we had downsized from a A/S Symbol and it took a while to alter our routine. We had the Hylo nearly 4 years then had a very good A/S Trooper offered which we could not refuse.

Alf

PS I think the 2ltr HDi engine has the 2 litre engine.

OK Peeps, I have just purchased a 2002 Romahome Duo Outlook 2ltr tdi. the exterior is in very good condition as is the underneath, as far as I can see lying on my back, it's all coated with waxoil or similar. The interior is clean and surprisingly unworn and everything appears to work ok except the sink doesn't drain too well, just seeps away.
I picked it up in the morning and ensured I was the first to start it from bitter cold. It started quickly and easily and on several restarts during the day. Driving the 30 miles home I could not fault it but it's quite different to my Fiat Panda and requires getting used to, everything worked as it should. I think. I expect foibles might crop up, in due course.

Hi chaps, after saying I expected a few foibles, I think I have one. This relating to the under hob grill, it only lights with a gas pencil, spark not working but the two burners function on the top. I can live with manual lighting but am worried about the burner only burning down the tube in the centre, but not spreading over the elements. Is this normal, please?

I've never owned a Mezan, but I've had other A/S conversions that have grills, and I've found the flame to be a bit weak on those. Is it running on Propane or Butane? If the latter (and depending where it is in the country at the moment) you may find that the gas pressure is very low.

We don't know what make of grill/hob Adie has in his Romahome (he didn't buy a Mezan).

Oh, ah, yes. Good point. In my defence I have actually read the whole thread. But not this time, and I'd forgotten the details.

But.... the point about Propane versus Butane is still valid???

So... it's running on Propane? Or Butane?

Hi Alf, I never see any pm's, what I see is "you have no new messages".
I have stripped and cleaned the grill and it seems to be reasonably ok now.
All the faults have been fixed, been taxed and road ready, but the final problem is getting reasonable insurance, even being my only vehicle. Any suggestions please?

You could look at the Small Motorhome Forum for info they are mainly Romahome owners
