Sad day Empty Sad day

Post by squip Wed May 09, 2012 10:19 pm

Today I should have been travelling via the chunnel to France in my van. Unfortunately Mrs squip has been advised for medical reasons not to travel abroad. We have also decided that touring in our van, even in the UK, is not a good thing for her to do any more and that we should go to a site and spend 5 -6 days there before moving on to another place. Following from this we feel that we would be better served by a caravan.
So today instead of going to France I have sold my van.
Therefore it is with great sadness that I must leave this forum. I have been a member for some time now and have enjoyed the time I spent looking over and responding to the posts. I have come to consider you all to be my friends and shall miss your company greatly. Thank you for your companionship.
So I wish you all farewell and safe and happy travelling.

Sorry to hear about your good lady, but can understand your situation as it is something we too have to consider.
Your valued input will be missed but you dont have to leave us if you dont want to and you wont get kicked off, your experience wont disappear.
Best of luck with the caravan anyway

So sorry to read you are unable to continue with your motorhome touring, I wish you well for the future and hope your health continues for you to enjoy your caravan.
Some very nice sites in and around East Yorkshire, very flat walking along the coast in Bridlington.
Take care.

Bummer!!

Don't be too hasty to leave - we still need expertise even if the person doesn't still own their original MH.

With regard to ageing, just remember that the alternative to getting old is dying young; and I advise you to make sure that you have some serious "caravan mover" fitted to save having to wrestle the caravan.

Enjoy and best regards to both of you.

Ian

Hope things work out well for you both.

Always sad when someone leaves but hopefully you'll still pop in from time to time to check up on everyone.

Hi Squip
All the best to you and your wife for the future.
You've made the right choice by not letting your interest control your lifes.
Good luck for the future and please drop in here every now and then.

Sorry aboutyour news Squip. Hope Mrs Squip gets better soon and you enjoy your caravan as much as the M/H. There's not much difference its just the mode of travel so why don't you stay? you never know it might even spark a caravan section.

All the very Best for the future,

Graham

Hi Squip,
Very sorry to hear about your good lady, and the subsequent sale of your van, but as Roli has given you permision to stay with us I am sure most of us would appreciate your continued input. You could if you feel out of place of course buy an AS caravan.
