Bike carrier Empty Bike carrier

I know this subject has probably been discussed  to death but here goes...... 
Was originally looking to fit a Fiamma bike carrier on the rear doors but after reading some of the posts on here not so sure , other option seems to be towbar and carrier fitted to that but that would restrict access to rear doors. So just looking for feedback on members own carriers used
