Fridge
We are still newbies to motorhoming . Can we power the fridge while driving? If so what setting do we use?
Also, when wild camping, we have tried using the plug points for speakers, iphone, kindle and it does not seem to work. Is this normal?
Many thx

Re: Fridge
Your fridge will have three settings 230v, 12v and gas.
230v for when you're plugged in to electricity (EHU). 12v when the engine is running and gas otherwise. If your fridge has an 'auto' setting, it'll choose the power source, otherwise you'll need to select the appropriate source. It will not run off the battery without the engine running - it'd flatten the battery in no time.
Your normal style three pin plugs (230v) will only work if you're on EHU. Otherwise your power is coming from the battery at 12v and they won't work.
Tommy.

Re: Fridge
The van should have a couple of 12v sockets under the 240v sockets = one at the back and the one in the TV unit. I bought an adapter from Go Outdoors 2pin to cigar socket to power phone. Cheap as chips - also useful when on hook-up as adds a power source.

Re: Fridge
Fridge, if like mine - gas controls on the right, two rocker switches on the left - one for 240v and one for 12 volt - only when driving

Re: Fridge
Agree the post by JandL Put them both "on" and "forget". The green rocker will energise when on EHU and the red rocker when the engine is running. If you are wild camping (no 230v supply) it has to be gas. Leave the two switches "on". They will not energise. Keith
