Moving small table floor socket ?
The floor socket for our small table is between the 2 cab seats. This is fine when we are settled anywhere but for one night stands we tend not to turn the cab seats round as the outside chairs are secured to them for travel. This means we can’t set up the small table as the seat backs are in the way.
What we would like to do is move the socket about 50 cm or so further into the hab area. This would mean we could use the small table for meals when sitting on the bench seats and as somewhere to put things on.
Has anyone done this themselves or had a dealer do it ?

Don’t quote me on this but what I would do is leave the existing fixing in place and fit a second one where you want it.
I’m sure they are readily available online, if you feel competent then drill a small test hole, probe the space underneath then drill the correct larger hole if space allows.

I did this job in a Timberland Endeavor. Not too difficult for a moderately competent DIY-er.
Critical is the advice given above, and here the dealer may hold the advantage of access to a vehicle lift. You could of course ask a local garage for five minutes on their lift. Even when there is a tank below there could well be the two or three inch depth of clearance that you need.
Given that your exploration is clear, you will need a hole-saw (for metal) of the same or slightly larger diameter than the table post, driven by an electric drill. Good luck. Keith

Thank you both. I don’t think we’re brave enough to do it ourselves but you’ve given us the impetus to take it back to AS for the job to be done.

Hi Quilter, we've got the same van as you and had the very same thought the last time we used it, it seamed easier to just move the cab seats back and use them to sit against and watch tv but of course the problem you mention cropped up, we have however always had the small tripod from fiamma for using the small table outdoors, it comes with a shorter pole, we just set this up in the van and all was good, I have fitted a second set of clips in the wardrobe to hold the shorter pole, I hope this gives you another option.

Re: Moving small table floor socket ?
Thanks crumb. This is the first time in 5 years that have have used the small table. Top and pole have been in the loft outside, the back alcove of the wardrobe is shelved and the bulk of the wardrobe houses a set of 4 polythene drawers. We ‘ve used a small flat- folding table until now which travels, with one outside chair behind a cab seat.
This trip we decided to take the AS table instead: my OH fitted the leg behind the driver’s seat on the bulkhead and the top still fits in the wardrobe. It’s easier to sit at than the folding table and can be left up without getting in the way. Its also lighter to put away but no use outside. I didn’t know there was a Fiamma leg available but will look out for it as that would be convenient, stowed behind the other bulkhead perhaps ?
