Linda...what about your insurance company ? Perhaps I’m being naive but, if they are unable to source a replacement part then surely they should be offering another solution: complete new roof with no rooflight ? A replacement van ?
If they are being unhelpful then perhaps your contacting the insurance ombudsman might wake them up ? I would certainly take legal advice as to how this can be moved forward.

Are you a member of either of the Clubs ( C&MC/ C&CC ) ? I think they have a legal department who might advise. The AA / RAC similarly eg

( Make sure as you do all this that you keep a blow by blow account of who said or wrote what to whom with dates and times. Easy to forget otherwise. )

hi thanks for your reply ... the insurance have now got involved but I'm afraid they won't be able to take it any further as its an incident not an accident so not too hopeful ! its a nightmare ...it should be a recall as its not the first time on the same year and make ! hubby writes all names and whats been said ...

I can't recall the previous history as it's in another thread, but what have A/S told you about the company that originally made the window? Have they ceased trading?

Hmm...I’m far from being a legal expert but it sounds like they are on very thin ice here. An accident is where there is both property and personal injury. An incident is where there is only property damage. Surely insurance covers both ?
( When we had a kitchen flood due to a blocked dishwasher drain, our insurer dried out the kitchen and replaced the damaged floor, kitchen units and the floor covering. That surely was an incident, not an accident ? )

I think I read on here about another chap who had the same happen, he returned to the dealer who he bought from and they replaced it.
Maybe get in contact with either him or his dealer

That's already been done, see original thread. Would have been better to update original thread than start a new one.rgermain wrote:I think I read on here about another chap who had the same happen, he returned to the dealer who he bought from and they replaced it.

There's also a thread running on the Facebook group, hard to remember who has said what.
