Hello!
Hello everybody,
My partner and I have just become the proud owners of our first motorhome. A 1998 VW Clubman GL Autosleeper, in excellent condition. We are looking forward to many adventures in the UK and abroad over the next few years.
I am French and I have been living in the UK for nearly twenty years and now enjoying my retirement thoroughly. My partner, who is English, is still working which means we will be doing plenty of weekends away, to make as much use of our motorhome as possible.
As complete newcomers to this experience, we will be hoping to gain vast amounts of knowledge from your members (so we don't have to keep bothering the very helpful previous owner!)
We look forward to meeting you all on the forum.

[color=#0f0f0f]Amusing way to remember a registration number. That made me laugh !
We just came back from the New forest and we had to state this van doesn't like the slopes...But we are not an hurry !

Re: Hello!
So I guess it's the 2 litre engine, not the 2.5 litre turbo? If the latter, then it should fly up slopes, but I gather the former is only adequately powered.rosk0 wrote:We just came back from the New forest and we had to state this van doesn't like the slopes...But we are not an hurry !

Yes. it's the 2.4 l. engine. It's fine on flat roads (average : 60 mph), which is fast enough for us, and also to keep a decent consumation...
@ Melb : Thanks !
