Hello all Empty Hello all

Post by Mike Haig Thu 26 Jul 2018 - 18:25

Hi, my name is Mike Haig, 72 years old and enjoying camper vanning for about 7 years.
I love the freedom to go virtually anywhere with my Wife Pam and put all of the household care out of our minds.
After two cheaper starter vans we purchased a used Tansit based Autosleeper Duetto which is just right for two people.
The one problem I have encountered is that thinking theTransit would last forever I've found that this model, a 2003 is well kmown to be a bit of a rust bucket. The garage advised me not to worry and just keep having it welded as required by the MOT. So far so good.
I have only just discovered this site and hope to get information as I need it and also pass on my knowledge to help others.
All the best, Mike

With a Transit there is no need to keep “having it welded” or patched.  Unlike some European vans you can get replacement body panels or part panels from motor factors and long term is is the more sensible move

The Duetto is a good choice and it’s worth taking your time they are a very popular van as when it was built there were very few,if any long wheel based campers

What makes you think I am a Tranny Fan !
