I want to buy some rubber mats for the front of the cab for my Nuevo. It's built on a Peugeot base vehicle and I want to protect the carpet. What do you recommend?

Bespoke mats for a Peugeot cab will cost a small fortune.

These come in different sizes and can be cut to shape with scissors, so a big one cut down might be cheaper and better than two small ones. Either one mat across the cab or two separate ones - and easily washable.

We have one on the (inside) back doorstep at home and it works well.  [url=http://www.dunelm.com/category/home-and-furniture/home-furnishings/doormats?sku_id=30070255&cm_mmc=pla_google-_-PLA - GS - Rugs-_-Doormats][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Thanks Dave (the link isn't working) I was looking in particular for rubber mats similar to the ones used in car foot wells as I have found them to be very effective. When I went on line there seemed to be separate mats or mats that are shaped and go full width in front of the driver/passenger seats. We have taken the supplied carpet out of the main living area and replaced it with Dunelm Marvel Mats which are washable and we found to be a great floor covering in our caravan.

Can't get the link to work properly, but if you click on the blue part it should be OK.

The stuff I'm referring to is Marvel Matting, and it seems quite effective. Never tried it in the van footwell though, so it may not stay put?

That's what we have got for the interior. It holds well on the bare floor but slides when placed on carpet, therefore would not be suitable for the cab area which is carpeted.  I still think rubber mats would be best If I can find a good fit.

find some one who has bought a aftermarket fitted carpet and use it as a pattern on an off cut of rubber backed carpet  a few 'rough' velcro strips glued to the back will keep it in place on the existing carpet

failing that buy a after market carpet redily available for less than £20 (ebay)

I wanted to change the oatmeal colour front cab fitted carpet in my Broadway as it was not a practical colour and I reckoned it would be a good selling point to put it back in pristine condition eventually. I got a nice quality brown fitted carpet on ebay for £28 and it looks so good we prefer it. It is whipped and fully fits the Boxer model cab from 2006 onward. Preferable to rubber mats as it will breathe. Well worth doing.

I had good quality rubber mats on top of the carpets in the cab foot wells, in my Anniversary Clubman, bought from Costco. not expensive from there.
Regards,
Margaret

The OP wants rubber mats.

Hope you find what you want, shouldn`t be hard really I would have thought, as rubber mats were always in cabs, as far as I remember.

Best regards,
Margaret

Hi we bought two rubber Matt's for two pounds, I can't remember where from only that it was a high street chain, the beauty of them is, you can put them under your front wheels if the ground is soft when you arrive on site and it gives you a sure start in the morning, just wash them under the tap to clean.
