Having previously owned a Rapido 740F my wife and I wanted something narrower and less bulky so that we could tour using narrow lanes, hence the purchase of "Tommy-Darcy" (T-D) our 1995 Ford Transit based Duetto. Please excuse us naming our van but after 8 years living on narrow boats, everything HAS to have a name and neither of us could agree on one name. I liked Tommy, my wife (Ann) like Darcy!!!

We are about to start our seasonal role as assistant wardens at Hendre Mynach touring park at Barmouth, but hope to get out in T-D for overnight breaks during our days off. Bus-mans holidays So to speak!

We also own a "Little Guy" Teardrop trailer which we put in a 5 berth dome tent (thanks to our unpredictable climate). We intend to use this set up for longer stays at one site using "T-D" more as a car.

As with other vehicles we have owned in the past, we search for Forums as they are a brilliant source for information, topical conversation and a great way to make new friends with similar interests. Hence joining this one.

If any members make their way to Hendre Mynach be sure to say hello to us. allthumbz

Cheers

Ian & Ann

Aahhh Barmouth. For some inexplicable reason, one of my favourite places. It might of course have something to do with the Last Inn... drinksallround

Welcome, allthumbz and you never know who might turn up on site. How close to Barmouth is Hendre Mynach? Walking distance?

Cheers

New Member saying hi! Empty Hendre Mynach

Post by Tommy-Darcy Tue Mar 13, 2012 1:39 pm

Hendre Mynach can be seen from the far end of the prom behind the cafe. The prom can be accessed directly from the site by a path going over the railway to the prom and beach beyond. Therefore to answer your question it is a nice flat walk from site to town. By road it is on the Harlech rd about 250yrds on left after the Castle Hotel.

Have yet to sample the Last Inn but others have mentioned how good it is New Member saying hi! 3854503862.

Hope to meet you sometime!

Ian

Hi Ian & Anne.
Welcome to the forum from a cool and cloudy Bridlington, last year we stayed in the Trawsdir touring site up the road from you.
We lost the Movelite awning one night in a gale, however the next day was beautiful.we love this part of the country, Barmouth was stunning, great beaches.
Will be back later on this year.
