Scenery makes up for poor facilities at Sango. Plus no other sites to compete with. Why the decorations?

We were at Sango last week for 9 days, despite the rain and gale force wind (smashing hab door latches) we loved it.
Yes it's dirty, yes its full of Foreign vans, it cost me £18 a night compared to £35 at Rosemarkie .
Beautiful beaches , we had a great time, met lots of really friendly people.

How come it only cost you £18? It cost me £20 (£8 each plus £4 electric). We only paid £21 at Rosemarkie as it was out of season.

£35! Just up the road from Rosemarkie at Cromarty you can stay on a grassy area right by the beach for nothing.
Along with two other vans and half a dozen tents we stayed there 3 days last year, lovely place. The village pub and eateries benefited greatly by our stay!

We went there just for an afternoon. Presume you mean the field after the prefab bungalows. Didn't notice any restriction signs but then we weren't looking. Did have a nice tea and cake from a cafe, wasn't much else there that was open.

Never noticed any prefabs Paul. It's by a park near the tiny ferry terminal, up a few steps and you're in the village centre. The pub (hotel) is right by the harbour, very busy when we were there. The restaurant is world famous and we had to book well in advance to get a table, folk come from as far away as Inverness!
For anyone in the area I highly recommend it.

I've just checked on Google Earth where we parked up in Cromarty. If you go to 57.6825n 4.034w then look around on street view you'll see a Nuevo parked in the exact spot. It's not ours, but I wonder if it's anyone on here?

That's where I meant, not our Nuevo, ours is an ES. Spin around and you'll see the prefabs.

Agree that Sango Sands is a wonderful location and we loved that you could walk through a little garden gate straight to the pub! What more could we want?!
