I will soon (March) be an owner of a 2006 Neuvo es but I think it might be too heavy and wide for my AA road cover. Can anyone enlighten me please

AA limitations for motorhomes are that it must be under 3.5 tonnes ( Nuevo of that age are 3.3tonnes) and width must be under 2.3mtrs ( with mirrors folded in the Nuevo is 2.2 mtrs) so I'm pretty sure you are OK.
If not then change to RAC through C&CC or Greenflag through CC both have no limits.

Thanks. Perhaps I'll give the AA a ring to be sure. Better safe than sorry.

We have our motorhome insurance with Safeguard and they have special AA motorhome breakdown cover which is included in the premium. Also covers Europe.  Worth getting a quote from them when you get your motorhome, when comparing with other insurers allow for this too.

Our Windsor is covered by the AA, longer, heavier and wider than a Nuevo.

Ive  unfortunately had the dubious pleasure of breaking down twice when my Nuevo ek was only a few months old with electrical problems, so called Peugeot assistance who use the AA for breakdowns. No problems they low loaded us to the nearest dealers ,really quick and very professional! Just keep your fingers crossed you never need them!!!                            BEST REGARDS    Paul

I  just read the comments from Roger about safeguard ,we were with them for 13 Yrs ! Our first and only claim in all that time [a quite small claim at that] they managed to wriggle out of! Needless to say we are now with another insurer the CC. The comment that you don't know how good your insurance is until you make a claim certainly rang true for us!!                                 KIND REGARDS       Paul

I got a quote for my Duetto from Safeguard £406, my original insurers are £220. Agreed my insurance doesn't include breakdown, but my breakdown costs £45

I too tried Safeguard who quoted over £400.When I told thhem my renewal was £210 they suggested I try Scenic. Thats who the renewal was from. Both are part of Swinton. Safeguard insist on breakdown cover included. Scenic let you arrange your own. Have do use different underwriters.

Nuevo & AA breakdown cover Empty Re: Nuevo & AA breakdown cover

When I bought my 06 Lancashire (similar to your Nuevo) I rang the AA to check, the operator said it depended on the judgement of the patrol man, being disabled I couldn't afford to be left at the road side and after thirty years being in the AA, I joined the RAC Arrival scheme with the caravan and camping club.
Had to be rescued twice with the van last year and transported around 100 miles home and once with the car.

Same here; I was with AA for 28 years but they won't recover over 3.5tonnes so now with RAC via C&CC and very pleased.

There is a difference between "corporate" conditions and "consumer" conditions. When you buy a package from your motor insurer they have th ecorporate version which may well include over 2.2m wide. My Nuevo is 2.32m wide mirrors folded so is not covered by consumer AA or RAC but is covered by Safeguard or Comfort versions.
Hop ethat helps to navigate through this minefield.

Nuevo & AA breakdown cover Empty Re: Nuevo & AA breakdown cover

My problem was that with insurance based recovery, it only covered the motorhome, I also needed cover for a car and also when my wife were driving unaccompanied , so ended up paying twice for the same cover.

That is the benefit of the RAC with C&CC as it covers the persons. It also covers my 20 year old Landrover for European use without any age penalty. That is a considerable saving as the AA used to charge a big premium for maturity rolleyes
