Removing 'Rubber' Window Surround

Post by micknhilary on Tue Feb 18, 2014 8:39 am

Good Morning All,
I need to do some work on the top edge of the passenger door immediately below the window of my 1995 Executive. In order to gain decent access to it I will have to lift up the bottom section of the rubber strip  which goes around the window opening. Had a quick look yesterday (in the cold) and it felt very stiff and unyielding.  Have any of you lovely people any experience in prising this strip up to give access to the metalwork below. Are there any problems either with lifting it or refitting.

Many Thanks,   confused3

Mick.

At last.
I have found the unanswerable question.
Not exactle the meaning of life, but at least a start.

When I removed mine, I simply grabbed hold with both hands & pulled it away & inwards from the opening, replacement was done by 'thumping' it back in with the palm of the hand, or a rubber mallet will do it.
